Received a card today from Isle of Capri Casino Lake Charles for a free "complimentary cruise package".

It says all I need to do is join their people on 23 Aug to pick up my Free cruise certificate for two. Carnival cruise people are to be there to answer questions about this cruise.

Does anyone know what this is all about??

Hi - I received one from the Isle in Pompano FL. Mine was for a OV cabin that had to be used by June 2015. I booked the 8 day S Carb on the Breeze and had to pay the taxes and port fees. Total $115. I figured it was a pretty good deal.

I received a Cruise Certificate from Hollywood Casino in Bay St. Louis, MS in May. Mine was "Complimentary Cruise For Two In An Interior Cabin" and was valid for sailings through December 15, 2014, but excluded sailings in June, July and August 2014 and Alaska itineraries. (Also was told after I booked when I called back with a question that this offer should not have been good for a holiday cruise, "but since its already booked ...." but as always each PVP tells you something different.) We booked a Thanksgiving Week Cruise on the Liberty, upgraded to a balcony cabin, and added a third person. Cost with taxes was $964. Not sure if I got the best deal but was it was a great incentive to go on another cruise. Still checking against Interline Pricing to try to get OBC, but this cruise price does not seem to be coming down. Maybe due to holiday???

If you qualify for Interline Rates and they are currently lower than the current IOC promo you will need to cancel the IOC and rebook Interline before your final payment date. OBC price adjustments are for Early Saver price drops that occur after final payment.

Lately, more and more cruise lines have been reaching out to partner with casino consortiums to to attract passengers with a higher than average propensity to spend money on board.

We got one from Isle of Capri in Kansas city MO.

Did you have to book when you were there?

We didn't. I received mine at Hollywood Casino's "Escape to Paradise Free Cruise Offer" invitation party on May 2, 2014. My certificate stated "To reserve your cruise, please call 1-888 or your travel agent by July 30, 2014." I booked ours from home on May 9th. We never even were approached or spoke to a Carnival representative at the party. There was 1 or 2 Carnival reps there if you wanted to talk to them and they were looking on laptops, so I guess you could book while there. We were afraid it was gonna be a 2 hour sales gimmick, but there wasn't even a sales pitch given. I guess the Casino just wants you to pick up your stuff and go gamble! We received an envelope with our VIP Cruise Certificate and a 2 page hand-out of Carnival Players Club FAQs. They also gave us a Carnival tote bag with a Carnival Vacation Guide for Cruises through April 2015 in it. Waited in line about 5 minutes, picked up letter and tote, and left. Easy Peasy! And very worth it for us!:)

We also got one from the Hollywood Casino in Bay St. Louis, MS. We booked an 7 day cruise on Dream out of New Orleans. Upgraded to a Cove room, it made the total cost $418 for 2 of us. I bought some egift certificate's through Verizon at 10% off and paid the cruise off only paying $377. Thank you Hollywood Casino and Verizon. We can't wait till sailing time.

I received a cruise certificate for a Carnival Cruise for two for an Interior Cabin for two from the Riviera Casino in Vegas. I had to book by December 15, 2014 so I booked the Freedom for October 5, 2014 and only had to pay for port fees & taxes which were $199.00 not bad for an 8 day cruise. I also received a certificate for a Norwegian Cruise from Maryland Live Casino and am taking that November 2, 2014, I upgraded to a Oceanview Cabin for $399.00. So I say go for it!!!!!
