YUUUUP Posted August 17, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2014 Just returned from the August 11 cruise. My 13 yo son and myself. As always the FTTF boarding process was outstanding with no issues. We were probably 15 on board and took full advantage to show my son the entire ship and introduce him to Guys burgers. 8:30 pm was meet and greet at Club Circle C. Things went well for him and met up with 4 to 8 new friends. The events were fun filled and if not he and his new buddies ventured out to find new things. I forced him to eat dinner with me nightly and meet in the room at night at 0130. He said best vacation ever and his cheeks hurt from smiling so much. Shows were ok but pretty much the same as from my cruise in June on the Triumph. This was a Casino free cruise for me. Now for the only negative post from me. Excursion was Isla Passion via twister boat. Twister boat was an awesome time and we got soaked! Worth the price to laugh and share the time with my son. I only wish it was a stand alone excursion as we were less than pleased with the island. 1. Snorkeling was like being in a pool, nothing to look at all sand bottom. 2. One water trampoline that looked like you needed your tetanus shot up to date, rusty and corroded. 3. Food was not good. Chicken nuggets burned fries, spaghetti I think, hard bread, some noodle thing and tasteless fish. Yes you can relax but a 13 year old boy wants to have some fun and not feel trapped and bored. 4. Drinks no frozen drinks so no virgin daqs for him. He asked for a Dr pepper and was given Cola lol. The hostess was very nice and had a water ballon toss to try to get participation. Others arrived by catamaran after many of the twister boats arrived and couldnt get any nice chairs or umbrellas. Same folks were forced to leave before us. Ride back to the triumph was awesome as well and Charlie and Leon were tipped well for the good time. Rest of the cruise was great and self assist FTTF was painless quick and easy! Thanks for the great father and son memories of a lifetime Carnival!

SIENA6334 Posted August 21, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2014 We did the twister boat last year. I had tried this excursion 3 other times, and always cancelled. So I was very excited to check out this boat. As you said the boat did not disappoint!! It was fantastic. But I have to agree with you, I was more than disappointed with the island. The water was just OK and really nothing much to do. The food was horrible. So, all I can say if you want to do this excursion, do it for the boat ride not the island. shipty2 Posted August 21, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 21, 2014 Passion island gets worse each time we go. The first time the food was awesome and the beach was gorgeous. Last year when we went we got ripped off by a shop keeper who lied and said a gem stone in a piece of jewelry was genuine and the food was like old cafeteria food. I for one am done with passion Island,
Jenny in TX Posted August 21, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 21, 2014 We did this excursion in November and loved it. It was DH and myself, DS (17) and a friend (23). We all loved it. We loved just relaxing on the beach drinking rum punch. I remember DH going to get a couple plates of food for us to share but I don't remember it being good or bad. Just food to get us through the day. DH had several beers and DS drank soda. We all swam out to the water trampoline and loved jumping off of it. Yes the hinges are rusted but that is to be expected since it sits in salt water. We had a great day and would do it again in a heartbeat!
YUUUUP Posted August 22, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted August 22, 2014 I'm glad somebody enjoyed the island. To me it was an expensive water balloon toss game. My 13 year old felt trapped as he is really not into "relaxing". With so many other options in Cozumel we will be looking elsewhere.
