Is this "Helicopter Hell"?

Those are all artist renderings, and shouldn't be considered exact. Best to either wait for images of the real thing, or sneak a peak at the webcams to see if there is more accurate images.

Anytime I have seen anything with a helicopter they fly over head, lower the equipment down, hoist everything back up

 

 

 

Exactly. Helicopters are never meant to land onboard, just hover above and lower the equipment down. This goes for all cruise ships.

The photos we have been seeing all week seem pretty clear to me. ;)

Never say never, as there may well be exceptions.... ;)

I agree though that landing on a cruise ship would only be attempted if there were no other option.

True there are always exceptions but these markings are really meant as a designated safe area for helicopters to hover above. On some ships, I'm not even sure they could support the weight of a helicopter.
