jtwanabe Posted August 23, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 23, 2014 On my last cruise I asked a die hard cruiser which island (Jamaica, Grand Cayman or Cozumel) was the best and which is the best beach. She said right away said 7 mile island on Cayman Island. I would like to go and see it but not necessarily on an excursion. Would you agree and are there way to get out to it on your own. rolaur Posted August 23, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 23, 2014 (edited) It's actually 7 mile beach and it's only a few minutes and a few bucks by cab that you can pick up at the pier. One of the nicer places on that strip of beach is http://royalpalmscayman.com/. Chairs or tents to rent, good food, pool with swim up bar. Very relaxing day. Rh2458 Posted August 23, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 23, 2014 Good question. My cruise on the Freedom is stopping there and was thinking about taking a cab from the port and exploring the beach on our own.

JT:rolleyes: 7 mile beach is awesome! I will also say that Passion Island in Cozumel is pretty freaking amazing too. Jamaica beaches are not that great, at least not the ones at Ocho Rios (I have not been to any others to compare.)
Mrsfabo Posted August 23, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 23, 2014 I have been 3 times you go right off the boat and I think it's either 4 or 8 US dollars for all day and access to the pool and food one of my favorite ports Sent from my iPhone using Forums
tw1nk1es Posted August 23, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 23, 2014 Walk directly inland one block from the taxis and tours. Catch public bus to public section of Seven Mile Beach. Restrooms and some services available. Most of the time, when you are heading back to the bus stop to return to the ship, a private taxi will offer you a ride for the $1.50 bus rate. drew sailbum Posted August 23, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 23, 2014 Default public bus rate to/from Seven Mile Beach is US$2.50 per person, each way. It is very easy to do on your own. The hardest part is deciding which part of the beach you want to go to!
OCruisers Posted August 24, 2014 #8 Share Posted August 24, 2014 We normally take a taxi to Calico Jack's at 7 Mile Beach. :) LuLu
