Define choose your room

When looking at rates for our cruise, choose your room in some categories is cheaper. So when I select it, and go to next page when I select choose your room it is my old rate. Is choose your room category only and the same as guarantee room?

choose your room allows you to select the specific cabin you want on the ship. Guarantee is when Carnival selects the cabin just before the cruise begins.

Called for price reduction and was advised eve though said choose your room, it was for a guarantee so no reduction. Now I am confused.

Are you talking about choose your room type? Interior, ocean view, balcony or suite? Or literally choosing the cabin number you want?

it only says choose your room on the web site. it is not really specific.

As far as I have seen, "Choose your room" describes certain rates Carnival offers. When you book at one of these rates you get to choose your own specific cabin. Guarantee rates are the other big category of rates; in these you only choose the general category of cabin you want and Carnival assigns the specific cabin.

 

Sometimes for certain sailings you may only find guarantee rates available.
