Thinking about doing the $250 down on a cruise in april 2015, which gives us til feb 2015 to pay the rest. If for some reason wee decide to go on a different cruise before the date we need to have paid for the 1st cruise in full, can that $250 be transferred or is it lost?

Thanks.

You can get it all back before final payment is due. Unless you are booked under Early Saver. In that case, they will charge 50 per person fee, and you can apply the other 200 per person towards another cruise taken within 24 months. However, you cannot use that money towards your deposits.

What if one of the people in a cabin backs out prior to final payment. Can you apply the $200 towards the others in the cabin or does it have to stay with the name it was booked under?

P.S. - they put $250 down TOTAL as a deposit...not per person....

They haven't deposited anything yet !! They are THINKING about putting a $250 deposit on a cruise. IF they do deposit, it would be $250.00 per person, unless Carnival is running a reduced deposit special.

Yes - we just did this last night. I had to change our plans to cruise the Splendor in January - we're now cruising the Breeze in Oct. 15.

I had a $500 deposit, plus $218 for insurance. $618 went towards the new cruise because I booked ES on the original reservation.

I actually had to change a cruise a few weeks ago that we had booked early saver. FWIW, after the $50pp was deducted from our original deposit, the remainder DID go towards our new deposit..

That's odd because their policy states that it cannot be used towards the deposit. And i actually had to do this myself, and they would not let it go towards my deposit... only towards the balance.
