Hello! I know there is a forum for weddings, but not getting help there. If anyone knows of anyone or has gotten married on the Fantasy I would like some help and advice. Did yours go perfectly, problems with the coordinator/planner, guests, pictures, reception and when it was time for non sailing guests to leave?

We got married on the Fantasy 22 years ago. I am sure things are done differently these days but here is what happened. We went through a wedding coordinator (A Wedding For You) who picked us up at the airport and she took us to the courthouse to file the papers and then dropped us off at the hotel. The next day we had a limo pick us up at the hotel and it took us to the ship (already dressed since my dress was short). We were married before the ship sailed. None of our guests had to leave since they were all going on the cruise with us (about 15 people). The only one who had to get off was the person who married us. The ceremony was held in the library (no cost to rent) and we also had planned for a simple reception by having food and drinks ordered a head of time. We had a small wedding cake that the consultant picked up for us but Carnival may even be able to do that for you. It was the best wedding and no stress at all!!!!

Our daughter and son-in-law were married on the Carnival Paradise in early 2013. Things have changed a lot in 22 years!

You still have a wedding coordinator (they had two because of more than 50 guests). Carnival delivered on everything they promised. Wedding started on time, as did the reception. Guests wanted shots, and bartenders obliged - thanks to some nice tips. Food for the reception was better than anywhere else on the ship. D.J. was fun, though he spoke little English.

The few guests who were not cruising left one hour before sailaway. We paid for them to have lunch, as they had to be at the dock at 10:30 and the wedding was after noon.

Photographers were great, as were the pictures. Photos were pricey, but that is true anywhere.

I have to say that a cruise wedding is a breeze. Compared to a land one, there is much less for the bride to do, though there is still plenty.

Good luck.

We were married on the imagination 7 yrs ago (sister ship) the wedding was spectacular!! Carnival delivered everything they promised and more. I highly recommend a cruise ship wedding. We had 27 all sailed with us. We did the

2 hr reception after the ceremony which took place in the library and it was decorated beautifully ( considering the flowers were artificial), Reception was in the disco with a DJ. The officiant, provided by carnival was great. We had a coordinator who met us at the pier prior to boarding and went over the entire ceremony and reception that followed. Our package included open bar for 2 hrs, 7-10 different hot h'orderves, fruit and vegetable platters, ice sculpture and a beautiful 3 tier cake. It was way more food than we needed and sent the leftovers down to the crew's club to enjoy. I can't emphasize how easy and beautiful it was, not to mention stress free. Not sure how the wedding packages are offered now but we found this to be extremely well priced for what we got! I hope this helps and if you have any other questions I would be happy to try and answer. Best of luck to you!!

A cruise wedding is not for the planner who likes to take care of the planning yourself.

Your venue is dependant on how many guest and how many weddings

Carnival only will book 3 weddings per sailing

Guests even if not sailing will need birth certificates and photo I'd.

Wedding guests can board first they can tour the ship while waiting for the ceremony

They will be escorted off about an hour before sailing

I admitted when I posted that things have surely changed since we got married 22 years ago. No matter how things have changed, I can only assume that things have only gotten better. Carnival did everything they could to make our wedding perfect and I would highly recommend getting married on any one of their ships. They were great!!!

I frequent the wedding forum and haven't seen a post from you. I am getting married on the Sensation (same class as Fantasy) on June 11, 2015. My first cruise ever was on the Carnival Dream for a wedding, and that's the day I fell in love with cruising and decided then and there a cruise wedding was for me.

My fiance and I are both busy with our jobs, and he coaches 3 sports so we wanted something fun without the stress of choosing every little detail. We know for certain that our reception will be in the nightclub since we booked the DJ. We have a large wedding party (16) and invited almost 300 guests (obviously we know not near that many will be able to attend) but we are ready just in case they surprise us and all are able to make it! We chose a 3 night cruise during the summer because we thought more people would be able to use it as a summer vacation without having to take a whole lot of time off work.

My mom and I are going to pick out the bridesmaid dress color and start looking for my dress next week then all we really need to do is pick out the tuxes and wait.

Our final guest list and documents aren't due until early May, but I've told guests I needed confirmations for hotel and cruise by April 1 (that way I have a little bit of time to play with if needed). We are hosting a welcome dinner the night before at our hotel so we needed the confirmations for how many will attend the dinner.

Hop on over to the wedding forum and I'll be glad to help and answer any questions you have!

Guests not sailing do not require a birth certificate to board and attend your wedding on board. I was married on a Carnival ship mid-2012. All that is required is their pertinent information on your final guest list that you will receive to complete prior to your sailing date. You do have a wedding contact assigned to you prior to cruising and a coordinator once you reach the port to assist you throughout the day. There are many options/additions you can choose from. My experience was a breeze and I outlined all of the specifics that I planned and it was followed through specifically to perfection by my Carnival coordinator and everyone that assisted through Carnival.

While we did not get married, we renewed our vows on for our 10th anniversary on the Fantasy with a wedding in the Library while the ship was underway (first Sea Day). So, you can get married while not in port if all of the wedding party and guests will be sailing with you. Just an option to consider (well this was 5 year ago, so that rule may have changed)!

The coordinator that worked with us was great - we got everything we expected. From what I heard, the spa had a blast getting the ladies ready for the wedding. The library was decorated beautifully for the ceremony. The captain did a superb job officiating. Afterwards they kept us in the Library for the reception and surprisingly the captain hung around and mingled for a good while - was not expecting that! Food, cake, and bar service was top notch. We both enjoyed it so much, I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes a tradition and we renew everyt ten years at sea.

With Carnival, you can RENEW your vows at sea, but you can't get married at sea. The wedding has to be while the ship is docked.

Oops! I stand corrected (they still do Island weddings?). That said, I can still highly recommend the services Carnival provided!
