Libra_Critic Posted September 2, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2014 Does anyone know the taxi fare from Marigot to Baie Rouge? Also how easy is it to get a taxi around 4:00 p.m. at Baie Rouge to go back to the ship by 6:00 p.m.? Would it be better (safer) to rent a car? Would it be better (safer) to rent a car? Personally I would want a car if I was going to Baie Rouge in the mid to late afternoon while on a cruise stop. You could ask your original driver to come back for you at a set time or have them call you a taxi from the bar. Of course you could end up with a flat tire and be stuck there if you drive as well but of the two choices given I would choose having a rental car at my disposal. By having your own vehichle you could also drive to another beach if the conditions of the beach or even the weather is not to your liking. navybankerteacher Posted September 4, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 4, 2014 You would want to have a lot of confidence in your driver to rely on getting picked up at Baie Rouge - much better to rent a car for the day.

I'm considering the rental car, but DW is reluctant because the street signs are in French. At Baie Rouge, is either Gus's Beach Bar or Chez Raymond open for business with some customers? Or is this an area with low activity? Why the hesitancy with depending on calling a taxi to return to the ship? Wouldn't that be a attractive fare for the taxi driver? Won't they come to that location?
