spyingeyes Posted September 4, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 4, 2014 The cruise I am trying to book in October is sold out. I even called Carnival directly. The advice they gave was to check back often. Is this where using a PVP would be useful? Will they do the leg work and keep checking for me? If so, any recommendations on a good one. snorkler8 Posted September 4, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 4, 2014 I'm afraid to ask which cruise. I thought October is kind of a slower month. We are planning on one on October but still don't have things worked out enough to be able to book it

Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app Recommendations of PVPs and T/As isn't allowed here on CC. A PVP can put you on a Wait List for the cruise you are interested in. This can also be done by calling the regular 800# and speaking with a regular call center reservationist. You will have to put down a fully refundable deposit and you will be contacted if something opens up. No PVP or 800# agent can constantly check openings. If you go the waitlist route and you see something open up, you can call the 800# with your waitlist booking number.

jenng1976 Posted September 4, 2014 #6 Share Posted September 4, 2014 I was curious why the cruise was sold out already ... But googled and realized the Poker tournament is that sailing. Must be a popular event! I don't think I've ever seen a cruise sold out so far before the cruise! Good luck OP - maybe you will get lucky and someone will cancel. :) Sent from my iPad using Forums

The executive casino host actually emailed me back, apologized, and is allowing me to use that entry into another main event tournament on the Breeze in April. And I'll still get the casino rate associated with the winning entry. Awesome customer service!
