WestColumbia1stCruise Posted August 15, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 15, 2005 I was just wondering do anyone have an idea about how big are the wheel chair accessible rooms on the Sovereign of the Seas. I will be traveling with a group of 25-30 people on November 21, 2005.
CruisinCouple Posted August 15, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 15, 2005 Certainly not big enough for 25 to 30 people. ..... just kidding I am sure that if they are designated wheel chair rooms that the doors are wider and all the other problems of wheel chair maneuverability are taken care of. I am taking my mother in law on this ship in four days the 19th for a weekend cruise and she is in a wheel chair. However she can walk, just not for long distances. She is going through chemo and gets very weak quickly So once we get to the room she could get up and walk in and we would fold up the chair. hdawson Posted August 15, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 15, 2005 WestColumbia. I think this needs to be coordinated with your travel agent who can get whatever information you need.
imsulin Posted August 15, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 15, 2005 Yes - you'd need a specially designated "handicapped" cabin that has wider doorways, no ledge, and perhaps a roll-in shower with no lip. Please have your TA reserve one for you, because there are very few of these cabins! Your TA would need to contact RCI's Special Services Department.
