Anyone else having trouble seeing the pics in the order I posted them?

When I look at them, they are as I described them and as Shaded Lady sees.

I did know that I've had trouble in the past with Photo Bucket. When I "moved" a picture of my 2008 report (this was WAY after that report was done); it did something squirrely. It removed EVERY single picture from that report.

So, I've been trying to be careful not to "move" things from where they are in Photo Bucket. We attended the Brunch twice; but I didn't take the menu pictures until the 2nd time. I'm hoping the fact that I'm adding pictures out of order from when they are downloading isn't causing a problem.

Please let me know what you're seeing.

Having said that; let's move on with our Brunch.

Weird...maybe I was drunk last night! LOL They are fine now! Sorry.

I am greatly enjoying your review, thanks for taking the time to do so. I will be back on the Liberty in less than 2 weeks!

Thanks for the feedback. I hope everyone is enjoying. Please feel free to jump in an join the fun, too.!

Can you tell me what is on the Baby Spinach salad? Hoping it's pine nuts, really hoping it's not walnuts.

You are a man after my own heart with those two creme brûlée!

I'm sure it wasn't walnuts in the Spinach Salad; I think you're in luck with the pine nuts.

I actually had one creme brulee and also the hazelnut chocolate cake. Another family member decided on the two creme brulee's. Like I said - if you want 2 desserts; there's no reason why they can't be the same!

A couple quick thoughts. Your parents look so happy and certainly look young for their age. God blessl them. You are a good son. I hope you all enjoyed the cruise and many more.

I am so looking forward to my elegant night lobster and creme brûlée.

The matching shirts are adorable!

Ehpride; I hope you enjoy your meal as much as I enjoyed mine. :D

JohnSpo, I'm didn't name all our gang in the single picture I posted the first night. The pick with the matching shirts is actually my in-laws. Is that who you meant? In any case, I'll the "I'm a good son and son-in-law comment" together. ;)

In that picture with everyone; my POP is the first on the left. My Mom passed away. W'ma and Pop have been together for > 15 years though.

Great review so far Cruzin Scotty. I am enjoying everything about it.

For some reason, Liberty has always been my favorite ship. I didn't remember why but seeing your pictures I think it is because it is not designed too over the top and the Atrium is just beautiful, especially with the changing colors and the Conquest Class ships seem to have a great design.

Thanks so much for taking the time to post this excellent review!

The new menu in the MDR looks great so far. It is good to see the service has been tweeked with bringing back the table cloths and the elimination of the family style service. I now look forward to trying it.

At the Seaday Brunch, I recommend trying the various bloody mary's with or without alcohol.

The Liberty is the only Conquest Class ship I've been on. I've always liked the toned-down feeling and have always LOVED the lights changing colors as well.

If you are a fan of tomato juice; take Jon's advice. He sounds like he know of what he speaks. :) Unfortunately, I like tomato juice about as much as I like coffee. LOL

*****Discussion about the TABLE CLOTHS*****

There are currently four ships that have the new menus. On the other three; unless something has changed recently - they DO NOT have the table cloths on the dining room table.

The EC's were on the Glory in April - no Table Cloths. That is ONE thing they did NOT like about the Glory that they LOVED about the Liberty.

The Liberty doesn't have table cloths because not all of their table are wooden or in good enough shape to NOT have table cloths. I looked at the actual table one evening; it was made of white laminate.

SO, I don't know if the plan is to continue taking table cloths away if/when they move forward with expanding the new menus.

The feeling the EC's had on the Glory is that you are having MDR food in the buffet area upstairs. Nice tables, but more noise and a loss of ambiance.

This is one of many reasons I HATE that the Liberty is leaving Port Canaveral so soon. One of the few Conquest Class ships to still have the LIVE BAND (I know the Valor should but that's because they don't yet have the 2.0 upgrades); and one with the new menus AND table cloths.

Off my soap box now. And, on to some good news!

I'll post the Fun Times at the end of each day.

If you have any questions about Saturday or Sunday, please feel free to ask. I've discussed what I attended; but I may have heard about other events.

So, next; we'll finally get to Grand Turk.

Thanks for the detailed report, and the addition of the Fun Times. We're doing this cruise Jan 3rd. Enjoying the food porn, and menus, of course! And, I was so pleased to see the white table cloths. Love that you are traveling with so many family members. Looking forward to the next installment...

Thanks for the feedback. I hope everyone is enjoying all the details. ;)

I'm just starting page 5 of 14 or 15 of the notes I took.

LOTS more pictures, we're just getting just getting to our FIRST port.

And, LOTS more FOOD PORN as well. We should be arriving and setting foot on Grand Turk when I get home tonight.

Just an FYI: I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Grand Turk - and for many reasons; which, of course I'll share. :D

This morning our pictures are a bit out of order. That's because the sun was rising at the same time we were docking.

Two years ago, DW and I went to the Serenity area to watch us pull in. We both really LOVE Grand Turk. With that in mind, I did the same thing. So, this is our perfect "Our early morning singing song".

Good Morning Star Shine (By Oliver, written by James Rado and Gerome Ragni)

Good morning starshine

The earth says hello

You twinkle above us

We twinkle below

Good morning starshine

You lead us along

My love and me as we sing

Our early morning singing song

Gliddy gloop gloopy

Nibby nobby nooby

La la la lo lo

Sabba sibby sabba

Nooby abba dabba

Le le lo lo

dooby ooby walla

dooby abba dabba

Early morning singing song

What is this???

Cruise2014391_zps62afd6f4.jpg

I don’t recall seeing this before. I looked at my 2012 and 2008 pics. I don’t have a shot from this angle. I hate to mention the misfortune of the Triumph last year; but I thought I read that each ship would be “more prepared” should such an emergency occur again.

Do YOU remember seeing this freight container on the Liberty or any other Conquest class ship before? The Dream Class ships have an outdoor BBQ that they use for sea days. I can only ponder – maybe it’s filled with grills, generators, etc. that could be used for emergencies? Anyone know for sure or have any thoughts?

We docked at 7AM, but that’s just too early for us to get off. No need to be in “the rush” to get off; at least for our gang. I walked on the jogging trail for a while.

But, wait – you DON’T see this every day:

Cruise2014393_zps92d9ae02.jpg

On that note, it's time to eat! :D

It’s high time I head to the Blue Iguana to have a breakfast burrito. Here’s the menu:

Cruise2014400_zpsc2f25a6d.jpg

And, here is Gusti. He was working every time I visited the Blue Iguana; he knew me well. LOL

Cruise2014402_zps481a6c14.jpg

He’s making my burrito. Why yes, a dollop of sour cream and a little of the brown/spicy sauce goes nicely with my eggs, ham, cheese and hash browns.

Cruise2014403_zpsf32d9260.jpg

Viola!

Cruise2014406_zps5db99d84.jpg

Some other breakfast choices. Notice we all like lots of fresh fruit; especially those bananas:

I call Grand Turk a “Carnival-ized” port.

Like Mahogany Bay (and others built or soon to be built); it was totally developed by Carnival. It’s kind of touristy. They have lots of the same shops you find in all the ports, plus Margaritaville. There’s not a whole lot else on the island (in this case). But, they also have a beach. And the beach is literally next to the ship. And the pool at Margaritaville is free.

So, for MY family; this is the PERFECT stop. Everything we need is right here. We’re in the tropics and can walk to everything. Someday, I may be able to venture down to Jack’s Shack and get a little local flavor that I hear so much about. But for now – I’m happy with what is right at the dock.

Time for a visit to pick up Pop/W’ma on the way off the ship. This was their towel animal:

Pop was in Grand Turk with me 2 years ago. But I found this little gem after he had re-boarded the ship. I wanted him to see it. We headed over to the “Splashdown Grand Turk” display. Back in 1962, the Mercury program was in its infancy. Two space shots landed very close to Grand Turk. In 2012, to honor the 50th Anniversary, this display was made. Here’s me and Pop:

Cruise2014426_zpsa61a942a.jpg

You see, I was born in Florida during this time. The space shots can be seen for hundreds of miles. I was born the day of one of the space shots. I’m not telling you which one – you’ll see the dates in just a second. LOL

My parents decided to name me after one of the 7 Mercury Astronauts. You only get ONE guess which one!

Here’s Pop and W’ma in front of the Mercury 7 Symbol:

Cruise2014422_zps669b47c0.jpg

There’s lots of historical info here; I still didn’t get to read it all. Here’s just a bit:

Cruise2014427_zps3b2239c7.jpg

Cruise2014428_zps5548e62e.jpg

There’s a spaceman there as well. Ma wanted to hold his hand. I’m not too sure Pa was thrilled with this idea. LOL

Next, we did a little shopping, before we headed here:

Cruise2014446_zpsd2392cd4.jpg

They have lots of fun/tacky signs:

Cruise2014439_zpsa6e84879.jpg

A few of us wanted to swim while others relaxed and enjoyed the atmosphere in the comfort of the shade.

So, here’s the ship and beach in front of Margaritaville:

Cruise2014431_zpsf8bb5f23.jpg

Cruise2014433_zpsae316200.jpg

Then, there was this beach bum with a loud, obnoxious t-shirt:

Cruise2014438_zpsaad63032.jpg

Ahhhhh, PARADISE!

After rinsing the salt water off, we just couldn’t resist finding a quiet spot in the Margaritaville pool.

Here’s a few random shots of the beauty right at the commercialized port area:

I don’t seem to remember the beach looking like this 2 years ago.

Cruise2014436_zps663306a4.jpg

Cruise2014455_zpsf867070f.jpg

It seems I remember a storm what came close by in the last 2 years? Anyone know for sure?

So, after salting and chlorinating our skin, we finally dried off. We did a little more shopping and then headed back to the ship.

Boy, I’m glad there was only one ship in port today!

It was getting close to lunch, there was quite a line getting back on the ship. If you look closely, you can see the line:

Cruise2014452_zpscfb6ed49.jpg

If there was a 2nd ship; we’d have just been in the heat of the sun. But, the great breeze made standing in the sun much more bearable.

Thru security getting back on board and it’s time to head to the room to get into some dry clothes.

There’s only a few lunch pics today.

We had some repeats that we love so much. You can’t go wrong with pizza and Guy’s! I had the burger:

Cruise2014460_zps3f48bf90.jpg

Here are the dessert options I chose today:

Cruise2014461_zps977c34cc.jpg

The pear mousse was the surprising disappointment of the day. After I tried it, I remember that this dessert “got me” last year as well. The texture was fine; but there was no flavor.

But, the Chocolate Cake pops and the Raspberry topped cake (very moist!) were both Fantastic. They more than made up for it.

I wondered what was on the dinner menu. You can find it on your TV, but it’s easier to me to head down to the entrance to the Silver Dining Room and take a look. Hmmmm, I’m not sure anything is really standing out tonight. Eh, I'll worry about that later. LOL

Time for some beautiful pics taken during Sail Away: Grand Turk!

Cruise2014458_zps63386493.jpg

Cruise2014463_zps56a4b82e.jpg

Cruise2014464_zps7f6e5205.jpg

BYE Grand Turk – we sure had fun!

We left at 2pm, so there’s time to jump in the pool and hot-tub. Also more time visiting family, time on the balcony, journaling and getting cleaned up for a great evening ahead.

Coming Soon: It’s Five O’clock Somewhere

This is a favorite for some of use on ships that have the 2.0 upgrades:

Cruise2014470_zps36a1d93e.jpg

They open at 5PM, the timing works out nicely for us to get a drink to take to dinner.

The theme of the bar is an old-fashioned pharmacy. First, look at the Menu by category and drink names:

Cruise2014467_zps00d85986.jpg

Cruise2014466_zps570aa605.jpg

Cruise2014465_zps0638ac30.jpg

And, when they have “compounded our cures”:

Cruise2014472_zps2f05b94c.jpg

They are, in order: The Remedy, Revved Up Mojito Martini, Martini Seduction, Creative Peach Cosmopolitan, and The French Kiss.

Next: What’s for Dinner?
