New Southwest Air Rapid Rewards Policy

Recommended Posts

There have been threads here before about my favorite airline, Southwest. The rules for Rapid Rewards will change this February, at that time Rapid Rewards availability will become capacity controlled with no blackout dates (except for awards issued prior to 2/10/06, which are grandfathered under the old rules - no capacity control w/ limited blackout dates).

I suspect the old blackout dates (X-mas, Thanksgiving, etc.) will be near impossible to acquire a seat on, despite the no blackout date policy. Other peek times of the week will be more highly restricted, as well IMHO.

Any SWA travellers with opinions or knowledge of the restrictions under the new policy? I know SWA employees have posted to CC in the past.

Happy cruising and flying on SWA to all!
