Time2CruiseAgain Posted September 28, 2014 Author #27 Share Posted September 28, 2014 (edited) With our bellies happy again, the kids went their separate ways and David and I just walked around the ship a bit and headed to the cabin! We were beat and ready for a good cruise sleep! We all headed to the elevator and what fun to do an elevator selfie!! No one's afraid to photo bomb (the guy in the blue and yellow to my right! lol!!! We then headed to our room and our daughter had made us a little door decoration!! Our home for the week!! After making our room service ticket to hang out on the door for our morning tea/coffee, danishes and fruit, we were now ready for a good night cruise slumber, enjoying the movement of the ship to lull us to sleep! However, our neighbors had other plans! At approximately 3:30 a.m. they where whoopin it up, screaming, yelling, laughing, cursing and well, we knew more about the guys body parts than we truly needed to know! HAHAHA!... ughhhh - we had no choice but to call Guest Services. ughhh - sounds like we are royal pains, huh? Truly we're not - but it was crazy! Not even workable or ignorable to try to sleep with it. We like to have fun,and we have had a little bit of noisy neighbors in the past, but this was out of control. Guest Services did knock on their door and our lovely neighbors called us and whoever else called about them a few names, but then there was finally silence and sounds of the sea and pleasant rocking of the ship!! But, for the rest of the week, we were hated..... But we did sleep good! HAHAHA! a side note - Guest Services called us every night to see if the noise had stopped - apparently from what we heard, we weren't the only ones who called them regarding the noise. I didn't feel so bad! More in a bit! Gotta make dinner! WAIT!! Where's room service? HAHAHAHA! mosaic_mom Posted September 28, 2014 #29 Share Posted September 28, 2014 Loving your review. And your yellow shirt and hat. That YTD sounds strange for sure. Wonder if they do that on every cruise on the Sunshine. Looking forward to more. We are on Sunshine on 12/14/14.
crusing48/51 Posted September 28, 2014 #30 Share Posted September 28, 2014 When in February. I see a group of 12 going in FEB but don't know the date. Have a decent roll call for Feb. 7th. We are on the February 7th sailing with you, we have joined the roll call. We are going with another couple we met on a cruise last year and became very good friends with. The roll call is kind of quiet right now, I've checked it daily, and not much going on yet. I'm sure it will pick up the closer we get to sailing. Time2CruiseAgain Posted September 28, 2014 Author #31 Share Posted September 28, 2014 Loving your review. And your yellow shirt and hat. That YTD sounds strange for sure. Wonder if they do that on every cruise on the Sunshine. Looking forward to more. We are on Sunshine on 12/14/14. Nancy - apparently that is the process they use on all sailings. It was a total pain. We didn't eat every night in the DR, though. 2 nights were Cucina and the Steakhouse, a couple other nights we just did buffet/pizza - total 3 nights. I never wear hats - but i get so sunburned on my head so I found this hat and loved it and wore it like everyday!
Time2CruiseAgain Posted September 28, 2014 Author #32 Share Posted September 28, 2014 SOOOO after an interrupted night of sleep - of course not Carnival's fault - we heard the faint knock on the door at 8 a.m. of Room Service bringing our "pre" breakfast! We really look forward to this! We enjoy sitting on the balcony and me drinking my tea, my husband his coffee, and eating a danish while we wake up and get ready for the day. Something was a bit off, though......like the AC....again.....UGHHHHH REALLY??? and to top it off, I was not feeling well - very congested and praying I wasn't getting sick .... sick. My plan became to go to breakfast - couldn't wait for the omelette - and head back down to guest services. Omelettes are made in the Havana Bar area - let me warn you - there are two sides - they make omelettes at both the Cucina side and the JiJi's side - However, on the Cucina side they also have side dishes along with the omelettes, the JiJi's side does not. We got it on the JiJi's side today, but another day we did Cucina and it....took....fooooreeevvvverrrr! lol!! The poor guy doing the omelettes must have been new and kept having to throw omelettes away because they burned and start over - totally felt bad for him! But, the end product was tasty! So, then I was headed back down to Guest Services - feeling worse at this point and just wanting to go back to my cabin and sleep - (luckily I had picked up DayQuil cold medicine and Claritin in Port Canaveral before we left and brought Alka Seltzer Nighttime from home! I was going to get better this day - I was determined!) I waited again almost an hour at guest services. What a nightmare. This time the girl I got was acting like she was so irritated even before I got up there - she was already having a bad day and no wonder - the lines for Guest Services were just crazy. She proceeded to kind of argue with me about the AC and that they could supply a fan - and I told her it needs to be fixed and not just put a bandaid on it. She finally walked me to my Cabin to check it out and indeed found that everything I was telling her was so. She then called a couple people wearing white uniforms, not sure what their titles were - and they spent some time trouble shooting and someone else came up to fix. We went for a walk and came back to the cabin and the AC was on. So - get this - the trouble with the AC - In the sliding door cabins - if when you close the door you don't lock it down - the AC will not turn on - REALLY? And you tell this to people where? They should hang something on the door explaining that it has a sensor and will not go on unless it is locked down. Still doesn't explain why it went off during the night - but we gave it a chance and see how it goes - THANK GOD, there were no other issues. OK - so now what to do the rest of the day!! Today's plan was to explore and then do Tea Time with my daughter and Elegant Night tonight!! I did rest a while early in the afternoon and then got ready to go to Tea Time in the Sunset diningroom! I always enjoy this time with my daughter! I love any chance I can get to spend time with each of my kids! A great opportunity for some sweet food porn!! Warm lemon tea - exactly what I needed! Sometimes I surprise myself with the way photos that I take turn out!! The tea time was busy - usually there's hardly no one there - I guess it's getting more popular! they had the usual cucumber sandwiches and the sweets were nothing short of amazing!!! The sandwich looking pastries were lemon curd scones - deeelicious!!
Time2CruiseAgain Posted September 28, 2014 Author #33 Share Posted September 28, 2014 Since I was feeling so terrible, we decided to go to the Cloud 9 Spa - hopefully I could sweat out whatever was going on!! Since we had Spa cabins, we got a wristband giving us free access to the Thermal Spa and discounts on other services. I have NEVER gone to the spa on any of our cruises! They also gave us a jar of lavender body scrub and a scrub pad! We got our bathing suits on, robed up, slippers on, and headed to the Spa - right around the corner from our cabins! The spa was amazing!!!! My favorite was the Aroma Therapy Room! Very hot and lots of steam! It was really helping my congestion! We sat through 2 steam cycles - wow - loved it! The above picture shows the Aroma Therapy Room and also the shower - after time in the Aroma Therapy Room, we scrubbed with the Lavender Body Scrub, rinsed off, and then went and relaxed on the Thermal loungers! We did this once at night and a couple times during the day! love doing this during the day and relaxing watching the blueness of the sea!! I was feeling a bit better, my skin felt silky smooth from the Lavender oil in the scrub, and we went back to our cabins to get ready for Elegant Night!! Time2CruiseAgain Posted September 28, 2014 Author #34 Share Posted September 28, 2014 Feeling refreshed after the Thermal Spa - I just sat in my cabin a bit - David had gone out hanging with the guys doing guy things! lol! I relaxed on the balcony a bit - just enjoying the sea for a bit! Then it was time to shower and get ready for Elegant Night! We got ready and headed down to get our number for the YTD - with a little more of a wait this time - about 20 minutes. Elegant night did not disappoint! The food was delicious! No complaints whatsoever! Lobster, mashed potatoes, grilled shrimp, and broccoli! My husband got the prime rib and said it was excellent! Then this guy comes around! They come around everynight with new shots - tonight.... BLOW JOBS! He had us in stitches! He said where else can you get one for only $7.50!!!! Hysterical!!! I was so full - no WCMC for me - fruit plate sounded good! My husband still doesn't understand why I take picture of food! lol!

Time2CruiseAgain Posted September 28, 2014 Author #37 Share Posted September 28, 2014 (edited) OK - one more and then I'm breaking til tonight!! Of course we have to get photos taken - we only chose one - I knew it is where I wanted it taken and still feeling under the weather, i did not want to go from photo station to photo station. We did our picture at the Atrium area on Deck5!! We gave each other a kiss and the photographer caught it - as soon as I saw it the next day, I knew it was the picture I wanted!! (this isn't the best picture - I took it after we got home). and we took this one on the stairs: We decided to head to the cabin and quick change and then head to the Comedy Club. We heard you have to get there early - we got there about 30 minutes early and we were second in line!! WOOHOO!! The comedian was hysterical!! I believe his name was Al and he used to be a WWE wrestler. The club was indeed PACKED to capacity and people on the side watched him on a screen - yuk! We had great seats obviously - I was glad we went when we did! I guess everyone was busy taking pictures and stuff! So - at this point (about 10:30) the night was done for me - I knew I needed to get some sleep for our first port - Cozumel! We didn't have a formal excursion planned (going to Paradise Beach!), so we could sleep in - made up our ticket for Room Service and relaxed a bit watching a moving on TV, some Alka Seltzer Plus Night time and the motion of the ship put me right to sleep!! Here's our towel buddy for tonight!! Hope you're enjoying the review! I hope I'm not too boring!! Lots coming, though!! gred1994 Posted September 29, 2014 #43 Share Posted September 29, 2014 We were on the same cruise! Thanks for the review...it's fun reliving it. We were in room 11031 and 11033 (spa balconies). Our room was so cold that sometimes I had a jacket on in there (hubby likes it cold). I was worried about the temp. because of what I had read prior to the trip. I'm sorry you had issue! I read somewhere that it was a blasting away!! :p Not a sound! I purposely listened from my balcony and couldn't hear anything! We did like the quiet of the Spa Balcony -other than the first night that is!! lol! Other than that - it was so peaceful!! My son said the same about his Lido Balcony cabin! He was surprised! Time2CruiseAgain Posted September 29, 2014 Author #49 Share Posted September 29, 2014 Finally - our first port!!! We arrived in Cozumel to some slightly cloudy weather - a little worried it would not hold off for our trip to Paradise Beach! We were in no rush as we were just grabbing a cab, so we enjoyed our room service and then went up to the Havana Bar for omelettes! We then met the rest of our group to catch a cab to Paradise Beach! The cabs run about $5 per person too and from - then a $3 fee upon arrival and they ask you just purchase a drink or food. You can also get a wrist band to play on the water toys and snorkel. We had planned on snorkeling, but the water was murky and it was getting more and more cloudy. We did do some swimming and relaxing on the beach - one thing about Paradise Beach - the food is always good!!! I ordered their Chicken Quesadilla - it was deeeelicious!! :)
Time2CruiseAgain Posted September 29, 2014 Author #50 Share Posted September 29, 2014 It had been a couple years since we had visited PB, so I was anxious to see the new pool and spend some time there! I was not disappointed! It's a beautiful, very spacious pool!! I thought it was a swim up bar, however, it is not - you do have to get out to get a drink! Of course I had to find the parrots - they used to have their own little hut - but now they have their own little hang out in the bar! Sometimes they even fly down and sit at the bar, but not today! We decided we had had enough and headed back to the port to do a little shopping at our favorite store - Los Cinco Soles! we love shopping there and especially getting some of the Vanilla - it is the best I have bought at any port! We got a few souvenirs for our granddaughters also - always fun shopping there! Next stop - the Swinger's Bar part of Fat Tuesdays!!! We always make it a point to stop there for a drink!
