Hello, we're doing two weeks on the Getaway back to back in November. Can anyone tell us the turn around time in Miami? We know we have to disembark, wait a period of time, than can return to the ship. Does anyone know the shortest time (off then back on) we could be in the terminal? Are the back to back cruisers let back on before the new cruisers coming on? Are the back to back cruisers in a separate area from the new cruisers? We have friends coming on for the second week and we have a surprise for them on board and we're trying to figure out how to hide from them in the terminal before they board. Any info would be appreciated. :D

When we did a B2B on Carnival, we waited in a certain area of the ship as everyone else debarked. Once everyone else was off, we were led off the ship, thru customs, and right back on.....BEFORE anyone else boards!!

Most of that answer will depend on CBP at port. Our NCL turnaround day in Miami was a mess because Port authorities were very slow so in transit group ended up disembarking after embarking passengers were arrining and port folks did not have separate check in for in transit passengers. When we finally got through immigration though we did have a separate waiting area and the in transit passengers did get to board the ship before the newly embarking passengers. We had a long wait in our waiting area because Coast Guard was doing thorough check of ship and crew exercises and no passengers allowed to board while it was going on. I hope yours goes more smoothly. We would have been better off touring Miami but we'd been there many times.
