NOLA and BB question

Family will be cruising on Elation October 13th. Never cruised out of NOLA so when can you buy the Bottomless Bubbles and not pay the tax since it takes so long to get out to the Gulf? Thanks!

Tax is not charged on the total just individual sodas you have while still docked

From my experience if I recall correctly, tax is charged on the bottomless bubbles package if it is purchased prior to hitting international waters. I may be incorrect, but I'm pretty sure that's the case. After you hit international waters, when the casino opens is a good way to judge most embarkation ports, tax is no longer charged. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

The casino opens long before international waters on cruises from New Orleans.

 

Tax is still charged on purchases for sometime after the ship starts moving, but I'm not sure how long.
