I was there last month and we tendered in, walked to the downtown area and there is a trolly that goes to the casino/ballroom, up to the botanical gardens and Wrigley Monument. It also goes by the tender embarkation. The cost was $2.00 one way, $4.00 round trip and $7.00 for all day. The full trip takes about an hour. It gave us a chance to see the basics and choice to get off to do more exploring at any of the stops.

It sounds like this is a hop-on-hop off trolley. How crowded were they? In some cities that have these, I have found no room to "hop on", and have had to wait for several trolleys to pass by until there is one with any available seats. Thanks in advance!

I personally think that one of the beauties about Catalina Island is that is "not for everyone", which I hope keeps those in doubt, on the ship. I find it magical, as there is so much to do other than the typical tourist expectations. After numerous stops there, I am thrilled to be able to visit it again. But then, I am NOT your typical tourist! I always feel as though I have been on "vacation" after visiting, and will leave it at that ;).
