Boarding in San Juan

Looking at Carnival Liberty from San Juan for May 2015. Wondering what time ( aprox ) does boarding start and can you get on and then back off ship after boarding.

We have done three out of SJ on Carnival. We have always been able to board around noon, then we get lunch and are usually in our room by 1 to 130. Then we get off the ship and roam around OSJ until its time for supper. Its a great way to cruise, almost like having an extra port day. Carnival boards at the pier in OSJ, (walking distance to the old city) unlike RCCL which boards at the Pan Am Pier, which is a taxi ride to OSJ. I would recommend flying in the day before and staying in a hotel.
