bubbles1209 Posted October 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 11, 2014 (edited) We're staying at the Marriott Waterside Hotel the night before our cruise in Tampa. What's the best bet for getting to the port? Cab? Is there a shuttle? We went out of Tampa once, years ago & can't remember. Also, what is there to do the night before the cruise? Thanks in advance :) Edited October 12, 2014 by bubbles1209
torpeedo Posted October 12, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 12, 2014 We've stayed at the Marriott Waterside pre cruise several times and it's a beautiful hotel. We've always had a car with us so transport to the ship would be by cab without a car. No shuttle. The port is just a 5-10 minute cab ride. The hotel is right across the street from St. Petersburg Times arena so check and see if there are any shows/concerts/games you might want to see. We attended a hockey game once and enjoyed it very much. There used to be a movie theatre within walking distance but it's gone now. The hotel has a very nice pool and you may just want to relax pre cruise and enjoy the pool. Whatever you choose to do, enjoy!:D
TampaGator98 Posted October 16, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 16, 2014 Look at taking the TECO Streetcar -- the route takes you from the hotel right to the Channelside area at the port. The same streetcar also goes to the Ybor City area if you want to go out the night before. Comedy club, theater, plenty of nice bars/restaurants, although there sometimes can be a younger, more-unruly crowd on Friday or Saturday nights.
