Traffic in Grand Cayman

Three ships is nothing. That's a light load. Getting back from SMB will all depend on what part of SMB you are on, and what your mode of transportation is (city bus, taxi, rental car).

If you are at one of the beaches closest to town, then it will only take a couple minutes. If you are out farther, then it could take up to 20 minutes or so. Bad traffic, a little more. If you head back to the tender pier 1.5 hrs prior to sailing you should be perfectly fine. (you must be onboard 30 minutes prior to sailing).

You've never THAT far from port...but it's true....traffic head back to the ship starts backing up around noon....so leave yourself about 45 mins. for the return trip. As long as you're IN the tender line before "last call", they will get you back to the ship!

And, it's VERY easy to see the traffic....the beaches are very narrow, so the road is within eyesight of the beach! Whether it's a car, cab or bus, they can only go as fast as the traffic is moving! Buses are at all access points along the beach!

Thanks you two.

We will most likely be spending a couple hours at Royal Palms or surrounding area for a couple hours after an island tour. We plan on taking a taxi back to the tender terminal (Royal Watler, in this case).

We will probably start packing up around 3:00-3:30 to head back. If we are early, which I am sure will be the case, we will poke around some of the shops by the terminal.

Thanks again!

Sounds like a perfect plan. Royal Palms is close to town, too.
