momof3girlz Posted August 20, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 20, 2005 Based upon experience, what is the actual time the Dawn docks in NY and disembarkation begins? We are scheduled to arrive at 10:00 am. If we do express disembarkation, approximately when would we be getting off the ship?
Water2Moon Posted August 20, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 20, 2005 We arrived back last Sunday..We docked close to 9AM. There was a hold up with the Non US Citiizens not showing up where they were suppossed to from what I recall otherwise we would have begun disembarkation sooner. But we were still off the ship before 10 Am. One thing, The disembarkation instructions say to wait in your room and they will call you by floor if you are doing express. Well I noticed that many, many people were on deck 7 just waiting. So we went too. As soon as they called express we were off. Had we waited in our room it would have taken much longer..
TrinaLC Posted August 20, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 20, 2005 Same experience several weeks ago; pulled into dock area around 9, but I think it was closer to 10:15 when they started letting people off. They had to drag us off, kicking and screaming, around 11:00.

If we do express disembarkation, approximately when would we be getting off the ship? Keep in mind it depends on your itinerary. If you are doing the Fla cruise with the overnight in Nassau the above times apply. The longer winter cruises or if they go back to departing Nassau at 2pm arrival wil be closer to 10am or perhaps a little later. Best bet bring your cell phone and let those picking you up know when the ship gets to the dock. Plan on 1.5 hours after that for the first off to be ready to be picked up.
