mii Posted August 20, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 20, 2005 I read somewhere that when a cruise stops in Portland, ME there is a shuttle that will take you to Freeport where the outlet stores and L.L. Bean are. I am pretty sure there is a fee and any information would be much helpful. Marilyn
SailBadtheSinner Posted August 21, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2005 I did a Google and found this: Freeport Explorer: Shuttle service from the Portland Transportation Center to Freeport, ME. Operates Saturdays, Sundays and select holidays. Call 1-800-377-4457 for more information. It appears it does not do weekdays. Following another link brought me here: http://www.vipchartercoaches.com/ which offers a PDF file of its schedule, but no reference to Freeport or Bean was found. kenandlaura06 Posted August 21, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2005 Hopefully you can find a shuttle that works with your schedule, because Freeport is great! I wouldn't miss it.
mii Posted August 23, 2005 Author #4 Share Posted August 23, 2005 I just got an answwer from L.L. bean in regards to a shuttle from the cruise ship terminal to Freeport. They no longer have that service. They suggested that the cruiseship lines have one, which I know they do but thought if there was another way. So I thought I would post this information for future use for anyone else who might be interested. Marilyn
