CruzinTamela Posted June 1, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 1, 2004 Hi! I am considering trying Dermablend to cover a few skin imperfections. I was just wondering if any of you have ever tried this, and if so, what was your experience with it? Thanks in advance! Tamela
catsix Posted June 1, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 1, 2004 I haven't used it but my sister-in-law uses it to cover a strawberry birthmark on her face. It works well to cover it but she says it takes a while to put on and blend correctly. Diamond Princess!!!! klauer Posted June 1, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 1, 2004 Not to be nosy, but what are you trying to cover? I tried it for spider veins and sun spots, and didn't find it to work well (I ended up going to the dermatologist to clear the areas up). It might work well on scars and birthmarks. Dermablend is not very expensive, so it couldn't hurt to give it a try. Good luck!
ElaineB2 Posted June 2, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 2, 2004 I used it years ago and found it to be very difficult to blend and not have that caked on look. But, as I said, that was several years ago. It may have changed since then.
CruzinTamela Posted June 7, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted June 7, 2004 Klauer- I have a slight case of rosacea. In the a.m. when I apply my Smart Cover, and my foundation it is almost undetectable, but as the day wears on the "rosiness" in my cheeks becomes more apparent. jim4yoli Posted June 7, 2004 #6 Share Posted June 7, 2004 I use Dermablend to cover the dark circles under my eyes and the occasional blemish. I have found thet it is important to find the right color and to use powder to make it set. But, so far, it has worked great. darnapar Posted June 8, 2004 #7 Share Posted June 8, 2004 My mother in law uses a product by Clinque it is a opaque foundation that blends great. The nice thing is you can try it before you buy.
mafiadon Posted June 8, 2004 #8 Share Posted June 8, 2004 I use Dermablend everyday for the last 10 years. The best way to put it on is to use the little paddle that comes with it and scrape it out and put it in the palm of you had to warm then it is much easier to put on and blend. It comes in many different shades and you can blend several shades to match you skin. Check out QVC or go to BonTon they sell it. natalunia Posted June 8, 2004 #9 Share Posted June 8, 2004 I've used Dermablend concealer for my horrible dark circles. I don't always use it, only when they have flared up, and I look like I have 2 black eyes. I've used the body cover in the past to cover scars and the occasional bruise. It'll cover a tattoo also, but mine is not where I have to worry about covering. Overall, great product, will cover nearly anything. natalunia Posted June 8, 2004 #10 Share Posted June 8, 2004 Oh, I've always bought my Dermablend at Dillard's, but I think JC Penney carries it too. LLindaC Posted June 9, 2004 #11 Share Posted June 9, 2004 Hi! I have rosacea, too, and now that those fun hot flashes pop up on occasion, I can turn red in a moment. I like Dermablend on skin imperfections, but didn't really like it all over on my face. I have so many colors on my facial skin, it just made me look too heavily made-up. The answer came in Lancome's Pallette Mix. It has 3 creamy colors to mix according to the color you need. I use the more yellow tone on my red areas. Note, artists know that you don't put white on red, it causes pink. Yellow and green bases added to red will give you a better flesh tone.I then use Ultra Photogenie foundation- wonderfully creamy and great lasting power. If you need to touch up an area during the day, you can use a smudge of the pallette and a dusting of powder to set it.
