Pier 27 Hotels?

We are planning on taking the Star Princess on Feb 17 on a 10 day Mexico cruise. It looks like the ship will dock at the new cruise pier. Does anyone have any ideas about hotels close to the pier? We have stayed at the Best Western Tuscan Inn previously, but wonder if anyone has any favorite places to stay that might be closer to the new pier.

How close to the Pier do you want to be? What is your budget?

 

Hotel prices in San Francisco can fluctuate wildly, so if budget is a consideration, you might have to settle for something further away. I was blown away by the Hyatt Regency. The location was ideal too... just off the Embarcadero, Bart access, and right on Market Street. Its roughly 1 mile away from the Pier, so I'd guess it's about a $10 cab ride ... maybe more in traffic.
