A close friend of mine was sexually assaulted (a few years ago) aboard a ship --- she is an adult.

She said the staff was very nice but didn't seem to have any protocol to follow.

Does anyone know if they actually receive any professional training ?

As someone who has been sexually assulted on a cruise ship, there was a protocol- I think they had to make it up on the spot. I had to keep telling my story all the way up to the Captain, the lawyer for the cruise ship and I was detained by the FBI. Perhaps it went so far was because my case was against an employee. I can only pray that they have better procedures and protocols now and more security.
