self service laundry on Zuiderdam?

Whilst doing my research on our upcoming cruise I stumbled across a site (Fodors) that said the Zuiderdam does not have self service laundry. Is this true?

No it doesn't. But you can stuff a heck of a lot of laundry into the bag they provide, and $20/bag and it all comes back clean and pressed 24 hours later. There is also a daily rate plan per cruise plan, but I'm not sure what it is now - someone will come along with that info.:)

$7 per day in the Caribbean. You must buy the whole voyage to get the $7 rate.

I have heard some people have had issues with the laundry. 1. Not getting everything back. 2. Hard on delicate things.

Hint for d.I.y.

1. Pack easy, wash and wear clothes.

2. Dollar store sells laundry detergent sheets that are Bio degradable. I cut them up into smaller pieces.

3. I bring a large Zip lock bag. Disolve the soap and the garments swish and let soak. Rinse and hang. While damp I crease the seams.

4. I bring extra light weight plastic hangers, clothes pins.

5. You can use a flat iron (for hair) to press seam.

This way I can travel with a small bag.
