Cruisin Kay D Posted November 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 26, 2014 We are thinking of flying from Orlando or Tampa to SJ on same day as cruise embarkation. What bad or good experiences has anyone had doing that??? We usually fly in day before....but just considering same day.... Billy101 Posted November 26, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 26, 2014 (edited) We flew from Ottawa Canada same day for two different cruises and Florida has less issues with snow and ice. Most cruises from SJ leave later at night like 10pm or 11pm so Tampa or Orlando to SJ should be no problem. That said, SJ is a wonderful place to visit so if you have never been and can spend a day or two before or after, i say do that. The flight probably costs the same price regardless. CFC Posted November 26, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 26, 2014 San Juan cruises generally leave latter in the day, so you will have many non-stop flight before final boarding. I always take the first non-stop flight out (same day) and make sure that the same airline has a few more non-stop flights after mine, that arrive before the final arrival time for the ship. Checking the flight schedules of the same airline is important, some airlines will not transfer tickets to other airlines. I find Orlando has better prices and more scheduled flights than Tampa. Have a great trip. Sent from my iPad using Forums
