SunnydayKim Posted December 29, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 29, 2014 Glad you had a great time! We will be boarding the Splendor this Sunday and can not wait! No really a question, but any suggested staff/bartenders/etc. that we should stop by and see? Did you go to any of the shows? Any "must see" shows or entertainment aboard? We will be going to the Dr. Suess breakfast, so if you went to that- fill me in on details! Thanks and can not wait for 5 more days when we are down in Miami and getting ready for our next adventure! cruisexlife Posted December 29, 2014 #3 Share Posted December 29, 2014 Are there difficulties finding deck chairs? Do they usually open the dome as long as the weather is promising? She is known for ugly decor, did you find it rather ugly? Is the MDR usually packed? Thanks :D:D:D

Kim We did not go to any of the shows. We were able to find live music throughout the ship in the evenings that we enjoyed very much. We did not do the Suess breakfast. I hope you have a wonderful time!!
jabberjaw070596 Posted December 29, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted December 29, 2014 Are there difficulties finding deck chairs? Do they usually open the dome as long as the weather is promising? She is known for ugly decor, did you find it rather ugly? Is the MDR usually packed? Thanks :D:D:D The dome was open every day. One day the staff put towel animals everywhere on the Lido deck so it was closed that morning. She is definitely pink but not ugly. We ate in the dining room many times and it never seemed crowded. We had any time dining so we ate almost every night at 5:45 PM with no wait. Malcolm was our cruise director and he is awesome in fact I think he was the best one we ever had!! mollymyers15 Posted December 29, 2014 #11 Share Posted December 29, 2014 Yes I second the question - Is there any staff members that went above and beyond you'd love to talk to again? Well be on the Splendor March 1st! Someone recently wrote about Gusti in one of the bars. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Well be on the Splendor March 1st! Someone recently wrote about Gusti in one of the bars. Sent from my iPhone using Forums I cant say any staff members that I remember by name but all the staff members were very friendly and kind. Always a smile on their faces and willing to help you in any way. We had a very good wait staff team.

jabberjaw070596 Posted December 29, 2014 Author #14 Share Posted December 29, 2014 MDR--- anytime or traditional? anything stand out over the rest? try the steak house menu in the MDR?? We had anytime dining. We did not eat any of the steak house items in the MDR. The only thing I would say about the Splendor is that it felt older than other any cruise we had taken. Lots of movement towards the back and little things like the computer system crashing almost daily. One of the elevators buttons didn't work on one side. Also felt like the air conditioning was not working too well the last night...very hot in the casino and hallways

pearle1 Posted December 30, 2014 #21 Share Posted December 30, 2014 I am going on the Splendor with my mom in January - and was thinking I would book a dinner at the specialty steak house , or maybe the chefs table - did you do either of these?? And if so, would you recommend it Thanks!
serene56 Posted December 30, 2014 #22 Share Posted December 30, 2014 Is there a reason why you hope against upper level? Yes. The upper deckl feels closed in. When entertainment happens on the lower legal its all spring to life. Upper legal not so much. Tables are too close together
