When boarding, is it a bottle of wine AND a 12 pack of pop?

From Carnival's FAQs...

-----------------------------------

Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages on board. However, at the beginning of the cruise during embarkation day, guests (21 years of age and older) may bring on board one 750 ml bottle of wine or champagne, per person, only in their carry-on luggage.

On embarkation day, each guest may bring a small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages on board and only in their carry-on luggage. A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 bottles and/or cans, 20 ounces each or less.

My DH and I generally take two bottles of wine and two cases of soda on - and do so in a rolly bag. We got to the Dream one time at the same time of half the cruise and it took awhile to work our way through the lines.. carrying the soda the entire time. We learned - rolly bags! (of course next cruise we practically walked on the ship! - but still easier to roll behind than carry.)

And be sure any beverages are easily accessible. Some have just waived us through without even looking and others have had us step aside and taken out the bottles and cases to inspect them thoroughly to ensure they were soda and wine.
