St Kitts Scenic Railway - has anyone taken this tour?

Hello. We did not take the train, but we did a taxi tour of the island that was wonderful. The taxi was less than $20 per person (I think) and we circled the entire island. This did seem like a better value and a better experience than the train.

We took this excursion a year ago when it was first released. We were on a HAL ship, but I guess that doesn't matter. It was a very nice railroad and the cars were very well done- you could choose betwteen an inside car on the lower level (which we did) or the upper level which was fully exposed.

It was a well done tour of an island that is looking for exposure. The train is very nice and the guides are good.

It's a really great tour and the trains are very nice. Make sure to pre-book this tour early because it fills up early and on our Summit cruise in January, it had a 30 person waiting list.

We took this tour a year ago and had a great time. DH is a major train buff and we have ridden trains all over the US and Canada. The St. Kitts was much nicer than a number of ones here in the US. As far as price, we've paid similar fairs for tour trains here.

We just took this tour in April 04, and it was very nice. The train circles the island and you see everything, there are a lot of sugar cane fields and mountains. The children all run out to wave as the train passes. Onboard, drinks and snacks are provided as well as commentary. It was an unspoiled, relaxing way to see a very pretty island.
