I have yet to book any cruises while I'm actually on a cruise. Has anyone begin item from doing so?

Please explain how it worked or didn't work out for you.

Beneficial or just wait fir specials.

Thanks everyone

Chris

We have booked our last 2 B2Bs (for 2013 & 2014) while on cruises.

We used to book right after we got home when they had the Future Cruise Certificates which gave you OBC when booking. Since they discontinued those a couple of years ago, we now book onboard.

We're sailing on a B2B the last 2 weeks of January. I already have done all of the research & chosen our 2016 B2B. If you plan to book onboad, it's really a good idea to know what you want to book before you sail. There may be a long line at the loyalty desk and he/she won't have a lot of time to research for you.

There are no special deals. Price (& deposit) are the same as if you booked online yourself. The incentive for booking while on a cruise is the OBC you'll receive on your next cruise.

Sorry, duplicate post. Didn't think it went through the first time.

Always book our cruises whilst on board :)

Some benefits include:

You have something to look forward to even when the cruise your on ends

On board credit - we only ever do long sailings of 6,7 and 8 days and typically now we choose B2B cruises but for 7&8 days it's $100 and for 12 days it's $200

You get to talk through options with someone face to face and ask questions - this is major for me and my family as we live in the UK and it would cost too much to go through a travel agent or have a Personal vacation planner

The future cruise desk advisor will in our cases match up our two bookings - as I said we don't have a TA or PVP and I wouldn't know how to match them up

There's always deals listed on the future cruise desk that you might not be aware of unless you were searching online

The biggest thing for us is OBC we get the bottomless bubbles and that helps pay a chunk of it and any other on ship purchases we may do during the cruise

DITTO.

THEY SHOULD JUST BRING BACK THE FUTURE CRUISE CERTIFICATES.

LAST CRUISE WE TRIED TO BOOK ONBOARD BUT COMPUTERS WERE DOWN.:(

HOWEVER WE WERE ABLE TO BOOK ONCE WE GOT HOME WITH OUR PVP AND THE GALS NAME FROM THE CRUISE DESK. GOT OUR OBC WITH NO PROBLEM. SAILING IN 9 DAYS ON THAT CRUISE.:p

ALSO HAVE OUR FIRST B2B PLANNED AND WILL BOOK ONBOARD THIS CRUISE.

THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO CURE PCD.:p

My sister is thinking about trying a cruise with us in 2016. Is there some sort of added benefit if you have someone else to cruise with you if you book while onboard?

When you book on board, you will get two "Friends and Family" certificates which will entitle them to the same onboard credit you got for booking on board. They have to book within 60 days of your original on board booking.

Is this always offered? We are sailing next month and planning now for our cruise next year. I have been debating if a reduced deposit sale happens between now and then or going for the $100.00 OBC. But the Friends and Family certificate would make the decision that much easier. :)

Yes. As long as they book the same cruise as you and do so within 60 days they also get the same OBC.

Thanks Fred,

I pretty much boycotted booking a cruise while on a cruise after they did away with the FCC's. But now knowing what we are doing it makes sense to at least get the OBC and vouchers.:)

We had been booking onboard for the past 5 years or so thinking it was the best option. Sure you get an onboard credit, but that's nothing compared to the perk offers that they send you if you don't book. I was always a little ticked off because I had heard that others were getting these fantastic offers after only cruising once or twice and here we were with 10 Carnival cruises under our belt and getting zilch really. So we didn't book after our last cruise and have been getting continuous offers and calls from Carnival with great rates. Guess they have no incentive to get you back as long as you have a booking with them.

I guess I should also add that these are "casino" offers that we are getting. I think that's just the title since we gambled less on this most recent cruise then we ever have in the past.

My suggestion is to not book onboard and give it a few months to see if you get better offers from them.

However, if you do want to book onboard, you can research other Carnival cruises all you want on the computers onboard for free...that way you don't have to take so much time at the loyalty desk.

Cheers!

Been cruising since 2001, and getting ready for #15 on Carnival... I have NEVER heard from them... no emails, no calls, no mailings... nothing. I'll take the OBC from booking on board.

Thanks for information, didn't realize the OBC was so good. I tried going last year, but the one person ahead of me didn't know what she wanted and after 45 minutes I left. Leaving soon, will be doing the single digit dance tomorrow, for the Breeze so I will definately book while onboard!:D
