Where are the Fun Ships

I Just got back from the Inspiration with my family of 8, and just about everything was great, the service in the dinning room was exellent, the food all around was very good in all dinning rooms, and the cabins were clean, the only dirt I saw was on the hand rails as most people used the hand rails but otherwise the ship was clean.

BUT when it came to the fun in the night club, it opened at 9:30 PM and most people started to rolled in by 10:30 PM to 11:00 PM and the music was good but what killed it was that by 1:30 AM they called last call for alcohol and by 1:45 AM they would just turn the lights on and got everyone out,and we are talking from 100 to 200 people just pushed out LIKE DOGS, and the music was never loud enough to cover the voices of the people talking 6 feet away from you, tv monitors were not on by the bar and the tvs that were on showed music videos but not of the music that was playing, the lights,it's reflecting mirrors where dusty, and fog machines did not work, and the drinks were weak.

Then on the night before the last they had a big Mexican party out on the pool deck, but the ship's NAVIGATION crew did not even bother to avoid a big rain storm that lasted 7 minutes and closed the party after and hour , so the party was shut down and the party was to last from 11:00 PM till 1:00 AM only.

SO WHERE IS THE FUN IN THE FUN SHIP.

We were practically put out to the curve every night by 1:30 AM, I think that Carnival lost there as the people were drinking and having fun till they closed.

Damn I just got off the Valor and the nightlife was hopping on there The Disco opened up at 11:00 p.m and served drinks until 3:00 a.m. After that u could go up to the Lido deck all the way AFT and get served until 4 a.m. And even before the late night club opened they always had really good entertainment at the dream bar in the Casino.

This is good to know, because I'm just getting started at 1AM!

I was also on that cruise with a group of 12 and we were kind of disappointed too. Why would they call last call for alcohol when there were tons of people still having a good time? Don't get me wrong- we had a great cruise and I think we have eight new people hooked on cruising but they advertised that they would play as late as there were people. There was only one night where they played beyond 2:30. I am going to write up a full review later on about everything else about the Inspiration since I know many of you are interested. We had a blast!

I have been on the Fantacy, Pride & Spirit and they pretty much kept the clubs open until people left. I don't remember a last call at all and there were a few times we crawled back to our room around 3am...The Pride and Spirit had GREAT clubs...lots of fun people. Hope it is that way on the Glory when we go in Feb 2006!

DH & I were on the Inspiration in 2002 and experienced the same problems. We closed down every single bar on that ship. By 4:00 am they all had closed so we just sat on the Lido deck and talked with some new made friends till about 6:00 am...got back up at 11:00 am and went at it again!!

I truly hope the conquest ships are better!

What a bummer abou them closing the bar. I've never been kicked out of the nightclub on a ship. I have been kicked out of the hot-tub though....:D

I can understand your frustration about this but turning a big ship of that size take a lot of time to do. They would have to make adjustments 30 minutes ahead of time to turn a ship off a route, and by that time the storm cloud would probably have moved... As much as we'd all love it if they could steer around rain clouds it's just not as simple with a boat of that size. :)

We've never gotten kicked out of the clubs either. However, on our 1st cruise, the 1st night, Dh and I and a couple we met at embarkation went to the piano bar. There were about 4 other people in there and they split after we sort of took over in about 5 minutes! We had a blast with the piano player closed that joint down at like 2am. It was sooo fun!

No the Inspiration is not the TITANIC, Inspiration moves pretty fast as we exit the bay it felt like a giant wave runner, almost, she was very agil and stable.

I could not understand why they would close a bar/club when drinks are another money maker for the cruise ships, the worse was, like I said before, the club was full, we were all dancing and drinking away I had my drink on my hand and had to finish it outside, that was not FUN as Carnival says, yes I had a great time aboard, so much that I forgot to complaint the next day to the cruise director, but I did as I was leaving, I talked to BIG TEX and he could not understand why, either; the staff did a great job but I wonder who makes the call to close, I would say that on nites that the next day the ship will be at sea it should close by 4:00 AM or even 5:00 AM.

NOW a ship that size has a big rotating RADAR and they can tell up to 5 to 8 miles ahead of the direction of the rain clouds, and other ships and a good navigator should know how to use every instrument aboard that ship ; so if a hurricane was to come they could not tell till the ship is hit by it?, I don't think so, the hardest thing for a ship that size to do is to stop, but she could turn so fast that we would have to grab the ground but we don't want that, and she would not roll over , the only thing I can think is that they had other things in mind like Hurricane Katrina and our safety, as the next night the pilot got aboard at 3:00AM so they were trying to get in early so no diviation was wanted, and I would say the ship was at Port of Tampa by 4:30 AM and that was more important than the fun of the passengers, safety first, and the deck is all wood and it became slippery, and that is why the party did not continue as the people could slip and fall, but we have all weather carpets, why this ship does not have it as other ships do and then the party could have continue, and this carpect stays cool in the day, not the wood deck.

Any way it was very nice cause the people was willing to party and have fun and the head chef was great with his food selections, even at the buffet the food was great, the Pizza and burgers were so juicy, after all I would love to be there right now.
