Taking fresh flowers on board

Has anyone any experience of taking on board some fresh cut flowers at Southampton, prior to the start of a cruise? I wondered if you are able to do this rather than order flowers to be in the cabin?

Possibly but it's not guaranteed. Can't you take an arrangement rather than a bouquet?

we want to include taj hotel in day trip but cunard trips makes no mention

 

anyone done a trip or booked a trip?

advice welcomed

I took a small Chinese bamboo "good fortune" plant, which was given to me as a bon voyage gift, onboard QE2. By the end of the 2007 world cruise almost four months later, it had thrived and doubled in size. My wonderful steward who looked after me so well for the entire cruise always admired the plant, so I gave it to him. He still had it when I was on QE2 in 2008 for her final transatlantic crossing. You will have no problems, and the cabin attendant should be able to find a vase.

When I was on the 2007 QE2 full world cruise, I took an outstanding Cunard excursion to Elephanta Island which departed from a small dock next to the Gateway of India.

 

On the return from Elephanta, we had the obligatory stop for one hour's worth of shopping in the stalls adjacent to the Gateway. As the Taj Hotel is right across the street from the Gate of India, I ditched the tour and walked over to the hotel where I strolled through the sumptuous lobby, the bars and the exotic pool area where I relaxed with a wonderful frozen Daiquiri before returning to the tour bus for the return to the port.

First of all I suggest you join the world cruise roll call for QE 2015 as there are some people on there who have organised a trip out in Mumbai.

I went on QE world cruise last year and I arranged a day out with http://www.grandmumbai.com/

It was a fantastic trip and great fun. I suggest you contact a guy named Pranav the guide at the above web address and he may have a friend who can guide you around.

The Taj Hotel is not far from where the ship docks. You could take taxi there yourselves.

Whatever you decide to do enjoy the day as it is an amazing experience.
