Activity Managers onboard Royal Ships

Just off the Grandeur this morning. John Blair announced during one of his show intros in the evening that he and Katrina would be finishing their run on the Grandeur with this sailing and would be heading on to the Anthem. Literally ended up walking right behind them as we made our way through customs.

 

I wonder if this means they are heading straight to Anthem. Dru was scheduled to be CD through June 30, then Abe Hughes was scheduled to come onboard for 4 months. Just trying to figure out where John/Katrina fits into the schedule, and what changes were made to the original plan.

 

John/Katrina have been onboard GR since March, and their break should be due around mid-July. Perhaps they are just taking over now for a short fill between now and when Abe comes onboard? (Like, maybe Dru had to leave 2 weeks earlier?)

 

Or, perhaps this means that they are headed to Anthem after their break?

 

It will be interesting to see how this unfolds.

****Adventure OTS – Renato Arana onboard as of 3/16/16. Unsure if this is a 2 or 4 month contract, but speculation is that this is his regular ship and that would mean a 4 month contract then vacation for 2 months.

 

****Allure OTS – I have been told that a gentleman named Joe (they did not know his last name) is currently on board having taken over from Katie Turner.

 

****Anthem OTS – Katrina Blair has been reported on her way to Anthem within days of 6/18 when she departed Grandeur. Christopher Johnn Hopkins is onboard was due to be onboard until early July. Perhaps he is moving to Grandeur…..looking to find out.

 

****Brilliance OTS – Tanya Yates Tongue has been seen on BOTS as of 6/17; unsure when she began or for how long.

 

****Empress OTS – Cecy del Razo will be AM when Empress sails and this came directly from Carlos Torres (the CD who will be taking out Empress).

 

****Enchantment OTS – Mauricio Diaz should be onboard as of May 4 when he returns from his vacation. I expect it to be a 4 month contract.

 

****Explorer OTS – Who is on onboard now?

 

****Freedom OTS - Cuddy Cudworth should be onboard as AM on 5/22 to the end of July.

Based on what I have been told by Andre Miller, he is due to return to

Grandeur as AM in mid July 2016, when he returns from his vacation. Marvin was moved to Grandeur when John and Katrina Blair needed to go to Anthem in mid June. They had been scheduled to be on Grandeur until Andre Miller returned from his vacation. Could that change, yes.

 

Sometimes I receive information direct from AM's but most information comes to me from cruisers on board ships.

Katrina Blair is the AM. Christopher Hopkins was filling that role before Katrina arrived with her husband John as the CD. Christopher has only said to me, he is remaining on the ship, until he gets another assignment. I have never heard of the title of Entertainment Host on any other ship.

Activities or entertainment host is the new designation on Celebrity where their activities staff consists of. The Cruise director, activities manager and one activities host that run all of the games etc. this may be the way of the Future fir RcCl as well. I cringe when I hear the Royal activities staff complain about being bUSY as it can very easily be the Celebrity situation on Royal!!

Katrina Blair is the AM. Christopher Hopkins was filling that role before Katrina arrived with her husband John as the CD. Christopher has only said to me, he is remaining on the ship, until he gets another assignment. I have never heard of the title of Entertainment Host on any other ship.

The best information on the Activity Managers on board Royal ships comes from cruisers. I have some of my own resources, but YOU THE CRUISER, are the best.

****Adventure OTS – Renato Arana onboard as of 3/16/16. Unsure if this is a 2 or 4 month contract, but speculation is that this is his regular ship and that would mean a 4 month contract then vacation for 2 months.

 

****Allure OTS – I have been told that a gentleman named Joe (they did not know his last name) is currently on board having taken over from Katie Turner.

 

****Anthem OTS – Katrina Blair until August 20, 2016. Looking to learn who will be taking over at that time…..Christopher John Hopkins, perhaps when he returns from vacation??

 

****Brilliance OTS – Tanya Yates Tongue is due to return on August 30, 2016, when she returns from her vacation. Do not know who is onboard as AM until then.

 

****Empress OTS – Angelle Rutten Van Hemert is covering for Cecy del Razo who is now on vacation.

 

****Enchantment OTS – Mauricio Diaz should be onboard as of May 4 when he returns from his vacation. I expect it to be a 4 month contract.

I spoke to John Blair last week while aboard Anthem and he said he will be going to Liberty after his vacation.

 

Katrina will be going to Liberty after her break, which should be around the end of Oct/beginning of Nov

Katrina and John departed Anthem on August 11 as Abe Hughes was able to return earlier than expected from shoulder surgery. No idea who the current AM is, but I don't think it will be Chris Hopkins as he left Anthem shortly after my cruise (I disembarked July 9) and it would be unusual to take only a 1 month vacation.

Keeping fingers crossed Enzo will not return to jewel and gets a good replacement. He is so inept.

Paulette: Cuddy will be filling-in as CD on Freedom beginning August 21 for a few weeks until Casey Pelter returns from his short break. No word on who will be the AM during that timeframe.
