Just back off Breamar today from Carribean.

Had a great cruise.

Could grumble about a few things but not going to

Service exceptional as usual, Breamar is what it is, a small friendly and calm ship.

Entertainment is great if you enjoy it, if not it's not. Usual Fred offerings.

The Show Group produced one of the best shows I have seen on a Fred cruise.

AI fantastic and Cocktails at half price great value. Loved em.

Won Potts of money on Dolphin Racing we love it.

Guest Artists were great if you liked them we did. Comedy, a Lady singer and a magician/comedy. I laughed so much I nearly woke somebody up.

Formal Dancing good in Neptune, in Coral the band played stuff to listen to, not to dance to.

Weather was fantastic, loads of loungers on sea days and ship was full.

Food great and company great.

Back on in a year up the Amazon.

Will Just say it is noticeable that fred is cutting back on things, but suppose they have to to keep the prices down.

Anyway a great cruise .

Glad you had a good cruise, we are on Braemar in 4 weeks time. Have not been on Braemar for a couple of years, your post has reminded me why we like the ship and the people on it so much. Were there any theme nights on the cruise ?

Hi Pugwash.

There was two, a red and white night which was published then a Tropical Night that was sprung on us.

Same as always with the Tropical, Garlands and bright attire with Dancing on Deck.

Great night as was the Red white and blue.

Have a good cruise, wish I was coming.

Say hello to Neeta, wears big glasses, in the Coral Lounge from Paul and Col, the best Waitress with Fred.

I shall have to dig out a Hawaiian shirt. I shall look out for Neeta and say hello from. One of the things I like about cruising on Braemar is the way the staff remember you from previous cruises.

Have a great cruise Carolyn.

Like I said we did notice differences from our last cruise on the Breamar, but you had to look for them.

So we choose to ignore em and concentrate on having a good time.

If you like Fred cruises then you will be fine.

We had the AI, as we always do, and this time we drank some premium drinks at half price, mostly Cocktails.

Baltic in September then Amazon next year so Fred must be doing something ok.

I think all cruise lines are having to cut back on certain things. Last year we cruised with three different lines and I think they all were cutting back but as you say ignore and get on with enjoying the holiday. We are doing Fjords in sept. and South America next Jan. on Balmoral For our golden wedding. We did the Baltic 2013 and I can recommend Alla tours for St Petersburg they were fantastic. Enjoy yourselves. Carolyn

Hi Guys.

I have just done a quick search for cruises that go to Cuba, I note the Braemar is going in January 2016.

We have never sailed with Fred as we have mainly sailed with P&O

How would you compare Fred to P&O

Thank you in advance.

Hi Pauly,

Difficult one this.

Bit like asking which is best Malt Whisky or Bubbly, I love em both.

We cruise with Fred and P and O.

We have cruised on all Fred's ships except Black Watch, and on P and O on Arcadia, Azura and Ventura.

Arcadia is our favourite out of the three.

So here goes, we are both 63 and on some Fred Cruises feel like youngsters. On other Fred cruises that has been the average age.

Last Cruise a couple of weeks ago we were the younger end.

Fred's service and staff I think are more friendly, but that could be because the ships are smaller.

We think the food is better on Fred.

Fred doesn't have 24 hour food availability.

Entertainment is roughly the same style but on P and O there are more options and the venues are more sophisticated.

Fred has the AI drinks package, which for drinkers like us, is a big plus.

We are formal dancers and there are more options for this on Fred.

P and O ships are more lively all round the ship, whilst if you like peace and quite then Fred is better.

What else, never tried the gyms so can't comment.

Always can get a sun bed on Fred on P and O on sea days it's a real scramble.

No high pressure selling on Fred of photos, speciality dinning, wine packages etc. we found on P and O there was.

Passengers mostly British on both, but probably wider Age group on P and O.

More children on P and O generally.

Cabins probably edged on P and O, but we have insides on both and never had any grumbles.

Wifi charges reasonable on Fred not sure about P and O.

Every cruise on both lines we have met great people on our table.

So we love em both.

Hope this helps, we enjoyed our cruise to Cuba this year on the Breamar.

Hi 1160451

very helpful info, much appreciated. We are a similar age to you and our Favourite ships are Arcadia and Azura for different reasons, we are about to join Arcadia in Hong Kong for a 3 week cruise up to Dubia so looking forward to that. But I must say I am attracted to Fred and the cruise to Cuba, will have to book that for 2017 as we are fully booked 2016.

Thanks again
