Carnival non-sailing wedding guest purchases

We got our final call last night for our wedding February 21 on the Paradise while in Port Tampa. The wedding will be held in the Leonardo Lounge at 1pm with the reception in the Rex Dance Club from 1:30-3:00. Since we will be boarding the ship around 11:30, if the non-sailing guests would like to get a drink before the wedding/reception will they be able to purchase anything without having a Sign-n-Sail card?

Carnival told me that non-sailing guests can purchase drink with a credit card.

They can make purchases as long as the card they are using will give a verification code. Typically most credit cards work, but money cards (the gift card ones) may not. They might want to actually go up to the bar for drinks instead of getting them from a roving server.
