zqvol Posted February 15, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 15, 2015 I can't speak about those particular excursion, but I can speak about snorkel excursion in general. You will board the snorkel boat from the ship and go out to some spot on the reef. You spend about an hour in the water. From this point things become different. Some boats go to another spot for more snorkeling, some go to an island for a beach break. Almost all of them provide rum punch on the sail back to the ship. cruislovin Posted February 17, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 17, 2015 I am reading in the description of the excursion that was booked for me by my travelling party that Belize has the second largest barrier reef in the world. So, how is the snorkeling there? I need to decide if I want to take my gear and I only have a few days! Also, the description lists the excursion as strenuous. Is the water particularly difficult for swimming around the reef? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

IF the chop is up teh sand is also going to be up and the water is going to be really cloudy. The other problem is that the guides make you stay in certain areas and if you are an experience snorkeler than you get real tired of getting kicked in the head by the masses. A much better snorkel spot is Roatan, so if you are going to Roatan, it is a must do stop.
