Where is Bev of the great notes?

Recommended Posts

My computer crashed and might as well have burned. I lost all of my information and research and am now in the process of trying to reconstruct as much as possible. If any of you know who i am talking about or even just people with great notes on their trip to St. Petersburg, please let me know. In more than 20 years i have never had a crash. No fun at all.

Thank you all,

Charolotte Miskin

Charolotte,

An email is on the way to you. If you don't get it - post here and I'll re-send.

Charlotte look for notes by Stinraynz on this thread. She has good ones. Would you happen to be going on the Constellation sailing 7/31? Looking for others on that sailing.

Sorry JeanB, we are going on the June 5th cruise, but i'm sure you will meet plenty of folks going on your cruise.

Maybe we will see you on another cruise.

Best,

Charolotte

Most of what I have came from the Baltics reviews I've found, and from the many posts here on the CC Baltics message board. (see the thread below with links to several terrific reviews).

Here are some other websites for St. Petersburg:

Pictures, information & links:

Try www.enlight.ru/camera/204/index_e.html You will find some very good pictures of Peterhof

The Hermitage – Virtual Tour http://www.hermitagemuseum.org/html_En/index.html

Good Article about the Renovation of St. Petersburg for 300th Anniversary in 2003

An online book about Romanov Russia Written by Anna AlexandrovnaVyrubova in 1923 http://www.alexanderpalace.org/russiancourt/I.html

LOOK FOR THESE BOOKS PUBLISHED BY BONECHI:

ST. PETERSBURG AND ST PETERSBURG & ENVIRONS

Drink only bottled water at this port!

You should bring only new American dollars because if they are old or have writing on them, the Russians are afraid to take them.

Take a supply of toilet paper in day bag – for example, at Peterhof you have to pick up the tp in the lobby – there is none in the stalls of the bathrooms.

Be prepared for poor ventilation in the museums, palaces, etc. It gets extremely warm.

I don't think Bev has checked in here in a long time. She sent me her notes, but I have cut & pasted - and deleted so much, I don't know what came from who. You can find most or all of the same information by reading here on the Baltics board and reading the Baltics Cruise reviews. Lots of Bev's notes were taken from Cruisecritic posts. (See the thread here with a list of some very good reviews.)

I sent cmiskin the information I have for St. Petersburg (posted above and in the reviews). I read & copied everything I could find and then personalized it by whittling it down to just what we will try to do in each port. You will find much more information on this board and by following posted links, than what is in my notes for each port.

I still check here often and read everything posted, to learn all I can before we go. I'm really hoping for those who go early this year to come back and post reviews and answer our many questions. This is an exciting itinerary!

Hi

Thanks for all the kind words. I admit I haven't checked this board in a while because I'm planning shore excursions for a Transatlantic/Med cruise I'm taking in May. I'm more than happy to send my notes to anyone that wants them. Since I can't access your email addresses through your profiles anymore, I'd appreciate it if you'd write me at <a href="mailto:bevsb@rogers.com">BEV</a href > .

Thanks again.

Bev
