wulber Posted February 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2015 Hi, We are in 6704 on Anthem of the seas.Has anyone stayed in this cabin on Quantum or know how bad the obstruction is likely to be . We're happy with it as the price was ok for us.
Ken at the beach Posted February 12, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2015 6704 only has a 50% obstruction. Basically you are looking out over the top of the lifeboat. The 75% obstructed cabins have a davit that blocks more of the upper view. Sitting down you will notice the obstruction but standing you won't. wulber Posted February 12, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted February 12, 2015 Thanks for your reply . That's not too bad. For all the time we'll spend out there. It's just good to get some fresh air.
HiCSailor Posted February 13, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 13, 2015 (edited) Check the thread on stateroom information for my review of Quantum's 6566: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1223724 ... and the couple of threads below for information and images to help sort out your view: http://cruiseforums.cruisecritic.co.uk/showthread.php?p=45081437 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2145640 RCI created the obstructed view balcony category (DO) specifically for the quantum class, and I believe it's a rare example of truth in advertising. I would choose a DO it again for the price, but believe you should go in with eyes wide open (though you may not see much). wulber Posted February 13, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted February 13, 2015 Thanks HiCSailor. That was interesting reading. Wonder what kind of noise we would have located about 4 cabins from the upper floor of Two70.Dont mind noise during the day but not at night. Maybe need to rethink this one. Thanks for your above post, a good read. We have eyes open and looking forward to it. Kezz
HiCSailor Posted February 14, 2015 #7 Share Posted February 14, 2015 We're next door to your cabin on Antham. Thanks for your above post, a good read. We have eyes open and looking forward to it. Kezz You're very welcome. [emoji5] I'm sure you will enjoy it, and you might consider moving further aft if a shift is an option (Royal's UK site will show available DO's and the % obstruction). Alternatively, anything forward of 6566 will be partially unobstructed because the forward-most lifeboat is adjacent to 6566. As I wrote in the review, most of what's going on is towards the back end. Having the deck 6 passage to Two70 is super nice. [emoji41]
HiCSailor Posted February 14, 2015 #8 Share Posted February 14, 2015 Thanks HiCSailor. That was interesting reading. [emoji5] I think you have a choice location! As you saw, my only lament was the commute aft and you've solved that. I can't imagine Two70 causing you any noise issues at all. There is one virtually hidden and always closed sound proof door that connects deck 6 to the upper level of Two70.
wulber Posted February 15, 2015 Author #9 Share Posted February 15, 2015 Yes HiCSailor I thought it was in a good spot for Two70. Just thought there might noise through the night after closing when they were cleaning but from what you have said all's well. Happy days👍
