Alternate Parking for the Manhattan Cruise Terminal

We are taking the March 22 cruise on the Breakaway out of the Manhattan Cruise terminal and was just wanting to check and see if anyone had used, or knows of, any alternate parking near the cruise terminal that provides shuttle service also, or may be within walking distance.

From which direction are you coming to MCT ? These "parking" directions by a fellow CC'r just below your post now with pictures should be useful regardless of where you will be parking for driving into Manhattan -

There's a number of threads on the subject - Park Right (indoor/underground parking) on W. 43rd Street between 11th and 12th Ave (pier/waterfront) is often mentioned as a cheaper alternative, a short distance to the pier with one of the street entrance at 48th Street, traffic lights controlled across 12th Avenue. The garage, AFAIK, will valet you back to the pier but on your return, walk to the garage to get your car. (weather should be much warmer by then ... fingers crossed)

Reservations are required and check their rates online before booking it - bring the confirmation/printed email with you. There are a # of other major garages offering online/coupon discounts and groupon is sometimes mentioned - again, please do your "homework" - and check about daily surcharges for oversized (length, width & height) vehicles, including minivan & SUV, etc. since $5 is ok but $10 daily for 7 nights can get pricey plus the 18.75% NYC taxes/surcharges collected.
