bert425 Posted March 3, 2015 #26 Share Posted March 3, 2015 How come whenever the subject of gambling comes up, you only hear from the alleged winners. Just to change the pace, my wife and I lost $1,200 at the craps table during a January Westerdam cruise. "alleged" ? that's why I provided photographic proof! :p

Just to change the pace, my wife and I lost $1,200 at the craps table during a January Westerdam cruise. I agree that most ship slots are tough.. I'm usually a loser!:(:) DH is not a gambler, but I do like to gamble a bit.. I usually take $20 & when I lose that I'm done for the night.. I really only like to play when the quarters or nickels drop down.. Once on NCL my Friend & I together decided we wanted to play on a machine her DH was playing on.. So my Friend kicked her DH off it.. We each put in some quarters & won.. Was her DH annoyed when we sent him to our cabin to fetch my DH.. I think we won about $90 each.. :D LOL One other time I was playing the nickel machine & won about $75 in nickels.. I put them all in a bucket & took them to our cabin where I poured the bucket of nickels over my resting DH..:D I hardly ever win but enjoy it.. My Friend on the other hand always wins.. She once won a nice payout on NCL & came home with it..She used her winnings to buy a couch Edited March 6, 2015 by serendipity1499
DaveOKC Posted March 6, 2015 #30 Share Posted March 6, 2015 A few years back, when the machines still took coins, I bought a roll of quarters and walked through the machines, playing 3 spins on each and if no hits, moving on to the next one. About half way through this, the elderly lady on the next machine in line got up and was walking away, so I put my quarter in and of course hit a small jackpot (about $50 as I recall). You should have seen the mean look that lady gave me as she informed me that it was HER machine (she was at least 5-6 feet away when I sat down). Anyway, it was not worth the hassle, so I agreed to split the pot with her (instead of getting the bad karma!). I know I did not have to, but it was not worth it to me and I could see it was a big deal to her. Funny though. DaveOKC
