Cruising for first time in June to St. Maarten. Thinking of going to French side for a few hours, then heading to Maho beach to see the planes, and then maybe head back to Phillipsburg for some light shopping.

Is all this possible?

What would be best transportation method?

How long do we need for travel time to each of these locations?

Restaurant suggestions at any?

Thanks for any help and suggestions!!

Yes it is possible.

IMO, a taxi.

Approx. 30 mins to the French side, approx. 30 from the French side to Maho. From Maho I would leave a good 120 mins. before my all aboard time if you plan on shopping, plenty of taxi drivers at Maho to take you back to the pier or into town.

Restaurant suggestions at any?

Depends what part on the French side do you plan on visiting? Grand Case, Marigot, Orient Beach, etc?

Thanks for any help and suggestions!!

We did an island tour with Bernard Tours and we plan to do it again in November. It was $45per person and well worth it. They provided all you could drink soda, water, guava berry punch and beer and took us to a couple places to take pictures, the orient beach which was beautiful where we spend about 2 hours, the. Marigot where we went to an amazing French bakery and the. To Maho Beach to see the planes land. We we're there for about an hour. Then they dropped off either in Phillipsburg for shopping or back at the cruise terminal. It was so worth the money for This tour and we got to see the entire island.
