NCL Breakaway and Others: Bring wine?

In the NCL Pre-cruise brochure, it says that you can bring wine on board and pay a corkage fee. Can you bring a bottle of wine on board to have in your own cabin, and thus not pay the corkage fee?

Nope. Bring as many as you like, but you'll be charged $15 per 750ml bottle.

The corkage fee is the fee charged to bring your wine on the ship, not to "on cork" the bottle. You can then enjoy the wine wherever you want to on the ship. You can even keep one bottle in your cabin and bring another to any restaurant that you want. You can then leave it with the staff, they will give you a ticket, and then staff from any other restaurant that you go to can retrieve it for you.
