mummy mia Posted March 15, 2015 #476 Share Posted March 15, 2015 Following Just spent the evening binging on your well written lively review. It is a valuable resource to be sure. Thank you for sharing your impressions with us. It's nice to hear from a cruiser who can enjoy a variety of cruise experiences to be found on different cruise lines and ships. This review has set my mind at ease that booking getaway will not disappoint and offer a change of pace. From the menus and your photos I know my traditional husband would much prefer the seafood offerings at Le Bistro rather than the more contemporary fare at Ocean Blue. megacruiser Posted March 15, 2015 Author #477 Share Posted March 15, 2015 Have taken the plunge today and booked an aft balcony on the Escape for January 2016. Quite excited to learn about new dining aboard, like the dinner show in place of Illusionarium or Cirque Dreams...

shumdit1 Posted March 16, 2015 #488 Share Posted March 16, 2015 Sorry I know this is out of order but I must ask. During embarkation are you able to go see the Studio rooms. I'm thinking about starting to do solos and would like to see what they are like ahead of time. Your photos looked fantastic.
drewlin Posted March 16, 2015 #489 Share Posted March 16, 2015 I'm sure that Megacruiser will have better photos but here is a few we took during our tour. Viva_la_Vida Posted March 16, 2015 #490 Share Posted March 16, 2015 I also know some folk reading this review will be irritated that I ask for people to let me know if they are following; and in fact I have been openly criticised on these boards for this. The reason is simple; when you spend hours day-after-day, sat at home alone, writing and editing photos; a "following" comment is just what you need to remind you that people are actually reading what is posted and find it interesting enough to keep following... I do hope this explanation will at least partially assuage those with any such vexation... Kind regards megacruiser[/font] I am definitely enjoying reading this! I am subscribed but behind on my reading and am just today catching up. I think your fireworks pics were just wonderful, espeically the second with the stars so visible and focused. Great work on the review! I will be a first time NCL cruiser so this helps so much.
kimberja14 Posted March 16, 2015 #491 Share Posted March 16, 2015 Love the review and the photos!! I'm booked on a Thanksgiving trip on the Escape, and since there isn't a lot to look at for that ship yet, this has been lots of fun:-)

caribbean1004 Posted March 16, 2015 #493 Share Posted March 16, 2015 Thanks for an awesome review and sharing so many amazing photos. It was an absolute pleasure to follow along. We are thinking of sailing on the Breakaway. Do you know how similar the Breakaway is to the Getaway? (We usually sail RCL or Celebrity...so not that familiar with NCL, having sailed with NCL only once previously, on a short cruise on the Gem.) I am hoping to show my family your pictures to give them an idea of the Breakaway.... Again, fabulous review and photos - thank you!!!!!!! :)

BUG1955 Posted March 17, 2015 #496 Share Posted March 17, 2015 Following! Love the pics and details. I cruised several older NCL ships in the late 70's 80's. Started to cruise RCCL and love the big ships! Booked today on the Getaway after reading this review! Yes why not try something new and different. Lifeisgood! Looking forward to more of your adventure! Question does the Getaway have anything like Park Cafe ? We booked June 6 sailing! Ukfaye Posted March 17, 2015 #500 Share Posted March 17, 2015 Thanks so much! This information is amazing!! We're going on our first cruise ever on the Getaway on 4th April. So seeing all this is amazing! My only concern is the lack of veggie options on the menu's. But I'll just have to have more wine instead!;-) Thank again.
