rendus Posted September 2, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2005 I'm setting sail on the Mariner at Port Canaveral on Oct 2 and want to avoid the whole shuttle bus experience. What are some reliable transport companies? Any recommendations?
CA Cruiser Posted September 2, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 2, 2005 If you are arriving the same day as the cruise then the shuttles would be a good way to go. Others have used Art's Shuttle and we have personally used The Cocoa Beach shuttle. There is also Legacy Limo service. You can go to the Orlando Airport website and look for off site transportation. We have also rented a car from Budget for under $50 & drove the 45 minutes to Cocoa Beach. I grew up there and we arrived the day before. The Budget return location is about 1/4 mile south of the port and they offer free shuttle to the port. Also, if you do go the day before, be sure to have dinner at Grills located at the port. They have a 10% coupon on their website you can print and use. We loved the Mariner and because of Hurricane Frances last year we had a "9" day cruise. Nothing as bad as this Katrina...God help everyone!
rendus Posted September 2, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted September 2, 2005 Thanks for the info....I booked with Budget. Looks to be about $40 cheaper than a transport company.
Nanatravel Posted September 9, 2005 #4 Share Posted September 9, 2005 Good choice. For the return trip to the airport, just buy the "ships" shuttle return ticket; $10-20 pp. The buses leave as soon as they are full.
