Bilu444 Posted February 22, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2015 Thinking of booking he Vista out of New York in November, 2016. Are there any benefits for booking this far out? Is it better to wait til it gets closer?
PurdueChefAmber Posted February 22, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2015 You get to be excited for longer!! Also, you can have longer to pay it off and count on the lowest price guarantee!
falkcor Posted February 22, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 22, 2015 well, benefits of booking early would be potentially lower fares, the ability to book early saver, and getting the cabin selection you want. i know the vista transatlantic prices jumped quite a bit from when they were released as initial bookings were strong. i think the same will be true for the vista cruises out of new york since they are so limited. early saver for 5 day or longer cruises have to be booked within 5 months of sailing. again given new york's limited sailings on vista - if you want a particular cabin or cabin type (like the L balconies, aft wrap, havana cabana, etc.) it'd be in your better interest to book early to secure these unique type of rooms. lately some of the best deals on typical carnival sailings have been coming after final payment, 'last minute' type bookings, but that's definitely not always true, and especially on limited sailings like the vista nyc sailings. you'd get the difference in obc if you book early saver, or price reduction up to final payment. Ykgorbie Posted February 22, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 22, 2015 We have always booked a year (or more) out and have, on three occasions, got OBC's when prices dropped (Early Saver booking), OR, as in the case of our upcoming cruise, saved a LOT of $$. When we booked an aft balcony, cat 8M, about 15 months out for our upcoming cruise, the price rose to as high as $5000. We paid $3100 for the two of us.
