Eastern Caribbean and passport requirements

Have taken a couple of closed loop cruises to Bahamas (carnival) and we are ready to take the family somewhere new. Looking at Eastern Caribbean to Grand Turk, St Kitts, St Maarten, and Puerto Rico. Hubby and I have passports, but have previously just provided birth certificates for kids, does anyone know the requirements for this itinerary?

Taking Carnival Sunshine in late Oct, if anyone has recently been on the ship we would love some insight!

On Closed loop cruises, Americans do NOT need passports to cruise. NO Caribbean country requires them at all....ID is for boarding the ship and returning to the USA....your BC and DL (if over 16 years old) will do nicely. Under 16, and a BC is fine.
