thanks for the pics! Has the ship just been sitting there for hours?

Yes since about midnight we stopped here and they made the announcement around 5 am that we had stopped and why and then gave us the plan of updating every two hours and that the cabins would remain available and the services would be restarting.

Been following this all day. Hopefully you all can make it back to land soon. On a personal note, I'm just glad I wasn't on this particular cruise. Being a diehard Alabama (Roll Tide) fan, I can just image my torture! (Sorry, just adding a little humor to a not so humorous situation) ;)

So what do they do for the people who are at the port waiting to board, aside from the $20 OBC? I know I'd be hungry. :)

I'm preparing myself for what I'm now convinced is going to happen in a few days. I want to know if I should pack snacks. Or maybe find out where the nearest bar is.

apparently RCI sent messages to anyone that gave pre boarding phone numbers. Said not to come to the port until notified. With knowing they have 4-5 hours once they start moving, I wouldn't be in any hurry to go stand in line at the port.

Lots of places near the port, the aquarium, the Harbor shops, etc. Hopefully most people were able to just hang out at their pre cruise hotel. Feel sorry for the ones that flew in this morning.

Will keep all this in mind for when we sail out of Tampa again in April.

When we were stuck at the pier that one time we were provided water teas and coffee and cookies from Royal. There was a restaurant bar at the pier that you could go to but I think you had to get back online to get into the pier.

Unfortunately we seem to be picking up more fog at the ship over the last 30 mins. Can't explain why but visibility is dropping. No new updates from the ship staff.

I'll be flying in the morning of the cruise so that's why I'm anxious. I'd rather sit at the airport bar than the port. Looks like I could just have the cab take us to the Marriott Waterside and we can hang out there? I'm just preparing because I don't know Tampa at all.

Regrettably, Brilliance of the Seas is still waiting for the fog out at sea to dissipate and for local authorities to allow the ship to travel to the port. Because of the current Coast Guard advisory, and the uncertainly of when Brilliance of the Seas will arrive to Tampa, we have decided to delay boarding for your cruise until tomorrow.

Check in and boarding for Brilliance of the Seas' next sailing will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, February 24, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Our shipboard teams look forward to welcoming you onboard tomorrow.

As a gesture of goodwill, and to thank guests for their understanding, Royal Caribbean will provide each stateroom with an onboard credit. Additional details regarding the onboard credit will be provided to guests tomorrow.

We understand that this was not the news our guests wanted to hear, and we share in their disappointment. There are many things we can control, but Mother Nature is not one of them. Our staff in Tampa will do their very best to minimize any further inconvenience to you, and our shipboard teams look forward to welcoming you onboard.

Feel for all those due on the next sailing :(

So where does everyone on the next sailing stay tonight? Does RCI pay for it?

I am sorry for all those at port as well. Fog is getting worse at the ship still. Visibility now back to a few hundred feet can barely see ship's bow. No new info onboard. Many hear starting to feel with night coming they may not try for port tonight with the fog. It is going to be a mess all around. :(

If you have issues with flights home and I'm sure there are many or important commitments waiting but if I'm on the ship sounds like an extra sea day to me! It stinks for those waiting to board. Safe travel to all[emoji267][emoji41]

The real problem is unless they re-deliver luggage most people are in their cold weather clothes here and have been planning to get off the ship all day.

It is a multi-hour process to pickup the luggage in the first place. All the entertainment on the ship was local talent from Ohio. They have all their gear packed to get off as well.

So unless you want to look at a pool or give the casino more money while paying to drink the extra day is just deferred headaches here too. Sigh.

Are they opening the MDR and continuing on as if it's a normal sea day?

I don't know. There haven't been any announcements for the last couple of hours since the captain said no ETA on movement.

For breakfast normal dining room and windjammer were opened with the WJ with extended hours. For lunch it was only WJ. I would have to expect for dinner they are going to have to do something with the dining rooms. There was no seating available for most at lunch.

The next sailing just goes to Cozumel. The one after that (the one I'm on on Saturday) goes to Key West. I hope we don't have to skip it!!!

I just looked at the Roll Call for the cruise today and they are Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Wonder if they will adjust that.
