chubbycheeks Posted September 2, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2005 I'm sorry to have to post this here but I was hoping someone could answer something for me. A local radio station is running a drive for necessities for those affected by Katrina. I thought about some of the excess supplies we have at my job. I work for a rehab program. I have about 1000 toothbrushes and 3 huge boxes full of trial size deodorants that have been in storage for a good while. I know the toothbrushes are ok but the deodorant has an expiration date of 2003. I opened one and it seemed fine...not hard or nasty at all. Should I throw them away? I'd hate to waste them if they can still be used. Thanks for your help. PS-I have my supervisor's permission.
gwen_cpk Posted September 2, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 2, 2005 I have no problem with using expired deodorant. I would certainly use expired deodorant if I was a Katrina victim- I'm sure I would be smelling pretty bad!! Maybe a chemist would know if it is safe or not, but me personally I would use it! chubbycheeks Posted September 2, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted September 2, 2005 That's what I was thinking but I just wanted to be sure. The other people at my job told me to just donate it because they need it and since it looks and smells good that it should be fine and they'll appreciate that.
