COCKTAIL GIRL Posted February 24, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2015 We are confused by our luggage allowance. We are flying out of Birmingham on 27 Feb and the flight has a luggage allowance of 23kg. Our luggage labels for P&O however state 20kg. Does anyone know the reason for the difference and how strict P&O are on the 20kg as we have never been limited as to how much luggage we can take on board ship previously? BigMac1953 Posted February 24, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 24, 2015 P & O and Cunard introduced a 20 kg limit per item for Health & Stupidity reasons. Nobody weighs the cases, so don't worry. The airlines are a different story. Stewart
Alybaly Posted February 24, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 24, 2015 We were on Ventura in December and confused about the same thing so we phoned P&O and it's 23 but don't go over that as they were strict at the airport Sent from my iPad using Forums
caber Posted February 24, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 24, 2015 Stick to 23 kilos. The tickets say 23 and the airline is fine with that. The only bit I saw 20 was inside the folds of the luggage labels. I didn`t even notice it until someone on this site mentioned it. Once the labels are folded and in place it is invisible. Clare1 Posted February 24, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 24, 2015 In Cruise Personaliser it says 23kg luggage and 5kg hand luggage, do not go over or there will be many pounds going out of your pockets. We are on this cruise.

We are on this cruise but fly from Gatwick on 28th. I was confused so I checked with P&O, they confirmed that you are allowed 23kg per person and this can be split between 2 bags each as long as they do not exceed the 23kgs

We were once behind someone checking in who was told by check-in staff the luggage allowance was 20Kg (it was for standard package holiday passengers) not 23kg - which is was the allowance for cruise passengers. The check-in staff were adamant - but wrong! The passenger paid for xs luggage! Since then I have always made sure I take some documentation with me confirmimg the luggage allowance we've been allocated just in case there's a challenge.
