megnut78 Posted February 28, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 28, 2015 I went online to make a payment today and it shows this: Carnival recommends Vacation Protection ? Add to guest for $0.00 If I click ADD, it shows that it adds it for $0.00. I know it costs money, so I'm trying to figure out why it's not showing me an amount. Has anyone ever seen this? forwardcabin Posted February 28, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 28, 2015 Could be one of those computer glitches that plague the Web site from time to time. They've been known to show that there are a million or so days until your next cruise!
KPfromCT Posted February 28, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 28, 2015 Hey, if they are "giving" it away, by all means grab it!!!!:D:D
SexyK Posted February 28, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 28, 2015 Hey, if they are "giving" it away, by all means grab it!!!!:D:D That's what I was going to say. But normally its anywhere from 49-79 per person.
mumtopugs Posted February 28, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 28, 2015 I saw the same thing when I made my last payment last week. I clicked on it and it added $49. I had to call to take it off. Lesson learned for me
nursemommy7578 Posted February 28, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 28, 2015 mine did that also...I added it then had to call to have it removed:rolleyes:
hunter14 Posted February 28, 2015 #7 Share Posted February 28, 2015 Maybe it says $0.00 because you have OBC covering the price?? Just guessing.
falkcor Posted February 28, 2015 #8 Share Posted February 28, 2015 Hey, if they are "giving" it away, by all means grab it!!!!:D:D i'd normally think the same, but we know that carnival doesn't honor pricing mistakes / web site glitches, and would end up charging it anyway. as other posters apparently learned, they just make it more complicated by having to call when their web site messes up, too :)
AQW Posted February 28, 2015 #9 Share Posted February 28, 2015 Same thing happened for me for a recent cruise... clicked on it, "purchased" it, and a day later showed a balance. I emailed to get it removed and they were incredibly snotty with me, saying the website DID NOT SHOW it as $0.00 - even more snotty when I sent back the screen shots I had taken. ;) It's a glitch. Don't bother.
GoeCruise Posted June 22, 2015 #10 Share Posted June 22, 2015 I thank everyone for the knowledge given. Nevertheless, I telephoned prior to adding the "$0.00" Vacation Protection to my final payment and a nice woman from Carnival advised me not to do it. She told me that another phone call-the one to remove it-would most likely be in my future plans. We will use a third party insurer, as always.
